Does not excuse rudeness by ICICI staff. Does not excuse ICICI bank staff lying to us. Does not excuse policies specifically designed to force penalties and late fees on customers. Automatic hi-tech cheque receiving machines are not available everywhere. Cheques dropped in drop box are... taken out, recorded and processed every day.Then ICICI Bank deliberately sits on credit card payment cheques for 5 days. I do not trust internet banking. I'm sure ICICI bank would love it if all customer were to give standing instructions to deduct amount from accounts without looking at the statement. BTW. Credit Card statement still not received. It's 3'rd August and due date is 8th August. We've already paid the dues. Read More

@ris1294 We ensure our balance is down to zero every 2-3 months on every card. Note: HSBC card deposited on same day as ICICI bank was presented in clearing the next day. So this 5 business days for other bank cheques is ICICI bank policy. They just sit on cheques for 5 days.

After this we inquired from other friends who use ICICI cards and discovered this is indeed a standard practice, especially when there is a large payment involved. In one case, a friend was told that her cheque was 'lost' and she should sign another cheque which would be presented immediately. ... She asked ICICI bank to give in writing that her cheque was lost - only then she would sign another cheque. ICICI Bank staff miraculously 'found' her cheque within an hour.
