Mr george, Let me suggest you one thing when you are going for any new vehicles except luxury cars. Don't run to the dealerships and book the vehicle as soon as it is launched in the market. Wait atleast for 4-6 months so that the initial lots will be cleared and any problems will be rectified... through customer and dealer feedback, so that the company rectifies it from the production stage. I did buy Xylo E4 after 8 months of its launch and i'm really happy with the performance expect some rattling noise and cranking sound in the shock absorbers. yes i do agree that few prolmes do exist continously in mahindra vehicles. But get it rectified with the dealers or try shooting a mail to the higher authorities of the company so that the dealers will be able to servie your vehicle in a better way. Xylo -Good bet for money but requires Improvements Mahindra Xylo
Hi people, Back after a long gap. Now i have few important review on the vehicle and the after sales service of the dealer. Its been 2.7 yrs i bought the vehicle & till now i could experience some rattling noise in the rear doors & some cranking sound in the front shock absorbers. Rest everything... is completely fine & day by day i'm getting more attached to my xylo. I have been able to get around 14 kmpl on normal driving speed (80 kms / hr). Overall evaluation i can say 7 out of 10. Rest 3 wil count on rattling noise, crancking sound in the front shock absorber & sligh braking probles sometimes. Coming to the service part from dealer - I can say its pathetic. I have leaving for service at mahindra showroom in Mysore since i have purchased my vehicle from them. The attitude of workers towards the job is just pathetic i can say. being an employee of toyota company i have seen the way our dealers handle our customers. I know its uncomparable between the two but Mahindra going all the way to become a global brand with the global launches, i feel they should look seriuosly into this matter. last time i had been for regular service & when i told the service executive that i have little problem in shifting to the second gear then the clutch is gettings harder & so on, i just got only one careless answer from his end. It happens sir. The vehicle is getting older so its quite normal for these things to happen. I was really shocked & surprised by the way he was going n and on with the same reply for every question of mine. Though the servicing charge was slightly higher bcoz of the interior cleaning & oil change. I would say Mahindra has to do lot more to train the dealers in handling the customers and the problems. A customer lost is as good as losing 100 customers. So hope the company will look into this matter seriously atleast now. Lets hope for the best. Apart from this i'm really happy with my vehicle. Even my friends advised me not to go for it because of the looks. But when i bought it i was amazed to see tha they have liked it to the core because of it...s bulky & monster look and also last but not the least the interior space which has beate almost all the MUVs in the market. Hi Mukherj, I dont think ABS is really required if u r not a frequent traveller in the highways. Even i didnt feel that ABS is required when i drive in highways most of the times (Including slippery road). Xylo is not at all a problem even in bangalore coz even i drive in bangalore very often a...nd considering the infrastructure developments in bangalore i think there should be easy flow of traffic in the future. So dont worry about anything and decide based on ur requirement & comfort. Traffic is just an external factor which has a minimal effect on your driving experience coz in Xylo u really enjoy the driving pleasure in any kind of road atmosphere. Happy Posting SandeepRead More
Dear Gopan, Sorry for the delay, it costed 1,650 for the first service which is minimum and the vehicle is absolutely fine without any prob. The service part was good and now the engine looks more refined without any rattling sound in the vehicle. Regards Sandeep
Dear Madhu, 3rd row seat is bit conjusted & not at all comparable with Xylo which has got enough space for a 6 feet person to travel comfortably.but i can definitely tel that Fortuner is worth buying for its price. Maintainance cost of xylo is comparatively low. I was billed 1650 for the first se...rvice which is very minimum for a vehicle like tht coz oil price itself will be around Rs. 1500/-. Dear Gopan, I enquired about xenon bulb for xylo and it will cost me Rs.9250/- so its a huge waste of money and you can really fold the rear rows and transport ur agricultural goods without any hassel. I suggest you to visit the dealer & check personally about ur requirement. Coz for estates you... may require many things to transport which may not fit into this vehicle as you can do with TATA estate & mobile. Hi Gopan, Yes i have crossed 3k kms and was unable to detect any minute problem so far. So my rating is 5 star as of now. With absolutely no problem with the performance & the maintainance im in a win-win situation. I recently replace the head lamp with 90/100 bulb which is giving a clear view o...f the road now coz the one which comes from the Co. is of standard tested one which is bit low (60/55). Im really really happy with my xylo with absolutely no problem. Will be heading for the 1st service in august, so will keep u people posted on the service part. Thnx for the comments gopan. Dear Gopan, Nice review, i have one thing to cooment abut the disadvantages u have mentioned. Bonnet cannot be seen in any vehicles as per my understanding and also i dont think tht companies are worried abt th issue as it is not at all a concersn expect some place like traffic jams & signals. ...But even i expect tht companies should give it a thought & can work on this issue to make it visible so tht customers can have more refined driving experience.Read More
Luggage space is a bit concern when you are going with full family of 8. But some space is left out behind the 3rd row where yo can accommodate 4 medium sized kit bags. But anything more than that you will have to adjust near the foot where you have ample space even after accommodating 3 people. I f...eel the designers could have reduced the boot space in the 2nd row which is more than the comfort level and could have used tht space behind the 3rd row to keep some luggage. But if you are 6 0r 7 people then i bet you can accomodate your luggage in the 3rd row which is very spacious. Hope i have conveyed the message to your expectation.Read More
Dear Gopan Yes i have already driven the vehicle in different roads and i feel very satisfied with the suspension, mileage & most importantly the pickup which you can really feel it. The pickup after 80 is tremandous and the vehicle really zoomz. But for a big vehicle like this we dont feel the ...absence of ABS to a greater extent because of the weight of the vehicle and the road grip. But sometimes i feel the brake should have been refined bcoz compared to innova the disc brakes of Xylo lags behind to a certain extent. One more important thing is never be at the high speed when your in the curves coz you cant really turn it perfectly as you do in small cars. I have experienced it and i was about to hit an old man who was coming opposite to me in a 2 wheeler. I hae learnt a big lesson that day. Never ever be at high speed in curves. This is my sincere request as well as suggestion.Read More
One excellent factor which i liked very much in the vehicle is the height(6.3 ft) and the ground clearance which is best in the segment at present. Some people say the vehicle lacks look ut i dont fully agree with them bcoz when Innova was introduced people used to say(including me) it looks like a big fat pig but as the time passed everybody started liking it. So it will be the same in the case of Xylo our people are not used this bulky design... which they feel very awakward but i wil bet you when people starts seeing many vehicles on the road they will feel the design and really like it.Read More
Yes gopan the only drawback is the parking sensor for E4 but im planning to get it fitted from outside which is less expensive. but apart from tht i dont thnk we need to go for higher models just to get those electronic items which can stop working anytime. I dont think the top model of Xylo (E8) is worth buying and its better to go for E4 as it bring down the tax and insurance rates and for the same amount you can get the music player fitted outside based on your choice. Why i am telling is in E8 we get only electronic items as addons compared to E4 w...hich can stop working anytime, so save 1.8 lacs and go for the extra fittings according to your taste thereby saving cost of the vehicle.Read More
You are right Dinzaa, Innova is around above 12. The pick in Xylo is unbelievable if you cross 70 then you makeout the real hidden power it really zooms without any hassels. Infact Innova has more refined engine but the pulling power of xylo has proved much better than innova and the rattling noise ...which we use to hear in scorpio and bolero is completly ruled out in Xylo and moreover the suspension of xylo is doing great in bumpy roads as this was a major problem in scorpio.Read More
