@sathyanarayanan89: You really don’t know the facts. Bajaj is doing all these as part of their marketing strategy. P200 had to be stopped because P220 DTSi was to be launched at that killing price tag, which could have killed even the p200! My P220 DTSi as of today (11 months of use and near ...10k kms), has not caused any probs. There has not been a single rider who has dared to beat me. I am totally happy. You ride normally you get 40kmpl and you rip her she gives 32kmpl. What else can you ask for? And coming to Hero Honda bull shit. You know why Karizma is still on? Because Hero broke up with Honda in 2001 and they dont have the expertise to build new engines. Zma engine has ever since not been changed. What, even splendour is not changed! Only thing they do is changing valves or injection techniques. Iam not saying they are bad bikes, just clarified your point. Its not something great in continuing with a same thing and NOT bringing new things. Honda or Hero Honda once set with a bike in the market are scared to move off it. Bajaj is always improving and always looks to satisfy its customers. Tell me a single feature which is missing in P220. Note: DTS-Fi was not a flop because the bike was bad. People couldn’t digest its price tag. That’s all. I have a friend who gets 50kmpl with that. And DTS-Fi was stopped by Bajaj since it realised it should give the Indian customers something in the range of 70-80’s, for which they had to remove the costly fuel injection system. And what is the end result? We have a bike more peppier, more reliable and powerful that the earlier sibbling! No Complaints. Iam not a Bajaj fan. I have had issues with my P150Dtsi. I just clarified this because I felt everything which the above writer said is not right and Just that P220 is a great bike. Iam saying this comparing my P220 to my P150 which I had used for 5yrs and 40k kms. Disregard all that is there a P220 beater here? only our elder brother ninja ;)Read More

Crap review. P220 is a very good bike. I have now done 10000 kms on the new 220 DTSi. Agree engine refinement is not perfect as a Zma but still a very good buy for the price band with good mileage, AWESOME power. 140kmph is my cruising speed on elevated tollway in Bangalore and I do it everyday. T...his bikes 'normal feel' speed is not 60, its around 90-100kmph and even the engine is still not over revving at that point. Mileage in 60-70kmph band is 40kmpl and above that it reduces sharply. Only problem I faced till now is chain sound quite common to all Bajaj open chain bikes. Other than that, this is a flawless one from Bajaj.Read More

Iam getting a constant mileage of 40kmpl in CITY TRAFFIC. And Iam pretty sure it will fetch 45-50 kmpl on long tours with lesser traffic. A performance bike with 40kmpl mileage according to me is unbelievable. Comparing it to Yamaha :- Its ur choice whether to spend 25k more and still dont get... a bike which cant 'beat' P220!!! And IF, I say 'IF', Bajaj engine puts you down, still you have 25k buffer to atleast repair the cylinder/piston etc and Iam sure that sort of thing wont happen in usual driving. 25k is a huuuge margin. Thats my point.Read More

People have a wrong notion about Bajaj bikes. I have seen very bad pulsars, very very bad CT 100's. Yeah I agree to an extent. But I myself have ripped apart my P150 for 5yrs. Its engine stood like a rock. And while selling it also I got a very high price just due to the condition itself. Dont make... statements about Bajaj bikes by just 'hearing' things. All bikes respond the way we treat it. (Yeah agree Honda Unicorn is a class apart.) Buy guys dont you think its a bit too early to judge the 'quality' of Yamaha? I have heard FZ sucks good time. It doesnt have mileage nor top speed in excess of 100, just goes on looks. Its engine has had complaints. r15 is good as of now, have to wait and see how long the bike goes. After all its 'race' technology. How long will u race in life? Zma, always has been good. But again mileage and other factors???. Well, no one really knows if there is indeed a Zma coming, may be just rumours. Once Honda left Hero, Hero has just the name attached, nothing else. Iam not a Bajaj fan, but just wanna say, maintain a bike well, service it, change oil, rip it in the way it should be done, KNOW DRIVING, KNOW HOW to change gears. In P220 Bajaj has made changes, enough and more of changes. P220 DTS-Fi flopped just due to its price, I have met people happily usinf is with mileage around 50 kmpl. Read More

I am a proud owner of a new Pulsar 220 DTSi 2009 new edition (FASTEST INDIAN). Almost two weeks into riding, the bike has been doing good till now fetching me a mileage of above 40kmpl easy in mild to heavy traffic. Engine feels super refined. Not like the other pulsar siblings who kinda roar...Read more

Kushal I agree. But dont rate my review on TD experience. I have been after this bike for over a month now. And mind you I have test driven it more than once. And I just presented my findings based on inputs from other sources also. See only thing which might need long term ownership exp is mileage ...and maintenance about which I havent mentioned too much. I just mentioned about the merits of this bike and that I recommend it.Read More

Last couple of weeks I have gone fida over the new Thunderbird Twinspark. At Rs.1, 02, 500/- (Onroad Cochin Price), I feel they charged a 'bit' for their 'ROYAL ENFIELD' brand value! Well last 10 years or so I have been a pure Bajaj rider with Kawasaki 4S being my first bike then moving on to...Read more
