Krazzy 4 is not in the genre that it portrays in the trailers. If you assume that it will be a rib tickling comedy then you will be disappointed. It carries a social message with a vein of humour. Four patients from the mental asylum at Khandala are taken by the doctor to Mumbai for watching the cricket match. The doctor(juhi) drops at her clinic to be abducted by soem goons and the eye witness is one of the dumb mentally retarded patients(Suresh Menon) who sees the leader of the abductors.
What follows is an attempt to find the whereabouts of their doctor. The foursome(Irfan, Arshad, Suresh and Rajpal) stumble upon information that proves that the kidnapping has been masterminded by the doctor's husband, an aspiring politician(Rajat Kapoor) with the help of the police to get one of criminals in jail testified as insane.
The politician and the police try to bump off the 4 madmen and eliminate all evidence. What follows is a race where the sequences raise a few guffaws . Irfan as the cleanliness freak is good but not at his best. His scenes with his family in Mumbai are his best. Rajpal Yadav as the freedom fighter who dreams of being in the times of the independence struggle and idolizes Gandhiji is good and is best when he sees a theatre actor as Gandhiji on the street. Suresh Menon as the mentally retarded dumb guy is robbed of his strength- his comic sense because of his dumbness. Arshad as the neurotic who loses his temper and gets violent is adequate. He loses his love due to his anger.
All the four make a sincere effort to get back Juhi and finally succeed in getting the culprits to book with the help of a TV journalist Dia Mirza. The title song of Shahrukh and in the end the dance by Hrithik is the highlight of the film.The two crore settlement of Rajesh Roshan's plagiarism with Ram Sampat will pay off as the music of the film is the star.
All said and done, the movie lacks the comic sense that the actors have the potential to carry. All four lead actors have the potential to carry any comic film on their shoulders. The public might feel cheated because the film is not a comedy.
The end with the social message that we are mad because we are misfits in the society sounds jinxed but proves a point. Since One Two Three has just been released and its a laugh riot with actors of lesser calibre is another factor that goes against.
Though the initial will be good, it seems that it will not do very well in the long run. SRK and Hrithik are the pull factors.
