Don’t go for KRAZZY 4 if you are expecting some relief from
day to day hustles. It will not provide you with any relief. KRAZZY 4 is not
one more flowers in the bouquet of comedy movies from the house of Bollywood. This
is my serious recommendation to everyone who will finally come out of the
theatre cursing the director and the way they were bluffed.
This doesn’t mean that the movie is bad in any respects. Probably
the director wanted to show us a different picture and we mis manipulated it. For
sure the way in which it was being promoted can give a different image but if
you try to find out, KRAZZY 4 trailers showed nothing but some item songs. The producers
“Filkraft Productions” can’t be jailed for it definitely. This was a reply to
all the reviews I was hearing on various news channels specially “Star news”. We
were not fooled.
Coming back to the movie, for sure it is not the best movie
ever made but it is surely watchable once.
Director Jaideep Sen, after working as an assistant director
in many movies directed by Rakesh Roshan, he finally got a chance to make his
own flick and as a first timer his work can’t be garb edged. His direction is
as worthy as the story by Ashwini Dhar. There is a visible effort unleashing
many issues and problems with a good blend of emotions and laughter’s. Three
cheers to both of them. At least someone tried to view the things with their
own eyes.
Coming to the actors, KRAZZY 4 has all the top actors in its
crew and none of them disappoint. They don’t just fit into their roles, they
probably sink into it.
Raja(Arshad Warsi), Dr. Mukherjee(Irfaan Khan), Daboo(Suresh
Menon) And Gangadhar(Rajpal Yadav) are the three mentally ill people being
treated by a psychiatrist(Juhi Chawla) who thinks that people who have their
brains not functioning properly should be treated with love and affection. In this course she tends
to take them out of the mental asylum so that they can enjoy a cricket match
and then the drama begins.
Story is predictable but the episodes that link the
different phases are well directed and some of them are really very heart
touching like the national anthem episode.
Arshad again proves that industry can’t ignore his acting
skills anymore. Irfaan yet again shows that he is a master of the craft. Suresh
Menon is good but he didn’t have much to add an increment in his values. Rajpal
Yadav as always over does his job. He is finer than fine.
The supporting casts, Rajat Kapoor, Dia Mirza, and Zakir
Hussain all play their parts in a very standard fashion.
The music by Rajesh Roshan is good but doesn’t really
impress except the title track which is filmed on Shahrukh and Hrithik simultaneously.
The KRAZZY4 track backed up with Shahrukh’s charm during the
mid sequences and Hrithik’s perfection at the climax are the two biggest assets
of the movie.
Whatever seen and said, KRAZZY4 is a wonderful effort and we
need to respect it. If you have any problem accepting it as mature movie rather
than a comic flick, just give a closer look to the poster of the movie. It says,
“KRAZZY4, If you think they are CRAZY, THINK AGAIN”.
