Convergence: you want to have one device which does one thing rather than have 3 devices in your various pockets. Smart phone has the biggest advantage in convergence. It is a combined product in PDA and a phone, and also many features of a PC. I have a O2 XDA II mini - bought from Ebay, and I am really happy about it. Phone - it is a very good mobile phone - contact details are beautifully stored. Writing SMS is a breeze, because of the transcriber and key board features. If you are connected to your PC, you can send the SMS by using the key board of the PC. The SMS both incoming and outgoing are stored in the PC Outlook folder - so can be used as mail and forwarded and vice versa, i.e. mails can be forwarded as SMS. This is another Wow in convergence. Since you are used to number pads in phones, and dialing no is instinctive to us - sometimes you miss the number pad, as everything is on touch screen. So you have to take out your stylus and punch the no. - so sometimes this seems like a limitation.

Pocket PC Features: Since it is a Windows OS, every windows feature makes it very usable. Word Excel, power point - every thing you need for a meeting is always in your pocket. You can go into any meeting, without your lap top if you know what is to be carried - it can be all put in your pocket PC. There are great applications and games available. I travel almost 2 hours to office and back. Now time flies as I use the music player (Real Player, good enough quality - may not be like a Ipod, but quite good, better than normal walkmans and thumbdrive music players) to listen to music while I play Sudoku on the pocket PC. Time really flies. When I travel in foreign land where it is difficult to pronounce the various addresses, instead of carrying pieces of print outs, I carry the important mails in my pocket PC - and I just take it out and show to the cab driver. With GPRS enabled you can read mail any where - you can connect to your mail server and download mails which gives pop features like GMAIL, or other POP stuff which is open. You can connect to the internet and browse. You can put in a small card which has WiFi connecting features and browse without GPRS. Really it gives you the feeling of always staying connected - while you travel - if you have the right infrastructure - you can always stay connected. Though it does not have the push features of blackberry, but GPRS connectivity makes it better than black berry because with GPRS you can down load and browse any mails. The interface is much much friendly than black berry. Searching out mail or any stuff is much easy because of the windows search features. And the best thing is that you do not have to open your lap top for these small things, they are always under your control and in your pocket.

In short if you like gadgets, and you like to stay connected all the time, this is the future - it is everything you want to be in one - is in one - and you are under control. Synch is very fast, much better than Palm, and your appointments everything is always in your pocket - it synchs within 2 mins at the max.

I am really happy I spend 20k in buying such a device.............................
