Ebay India ignores its own Guarantee Rules!

I had purchased an item from ebay(Paisapay id: 33972846204). The seller(saritachandigarh) was supposed to ship by 07th Jul. Since the seller failed to do so and also failed to communicate, on 08th July I opened a case for refund. As per ebay india rules I am entitled to a AUTOMATIC refund if the seller fails to ship/deliver within specified date. So in my case, I should have been eligible for it.


Guess what? Ebay India quietly closes my refund request without consulting me. Meanwhile the seller ships the item 5 days after due date. I have today sent email to ebay, posted my case on their facebook page(https://facebook.com/ebaydotin), and plan to follow up with a phone call. I have also intimated the seller that I will not be accepting the courier when it arrives because bad behavior and poor customer service cannot be condoned.


I have also warned ebay that I will publicize the issue and make use of every forum available to me. The money I paid matters little to me. What I want is FAIRNESS and TRANSPARENCY in their dealing. If Ebay India cannot follow their own refund guarantee conditions, what purpose does ebay guarantee serve?


I've had negligible dealing with other India based websites but have bought extensively from non-Indian sites including Ebay.com


I will readily agree that a majority of sellers on Ebay India are good but there are also numerous'bad apples' amongst sellers and also Ebay staff that are bringing bad repute and bad user experience to Ebay India. Problem is, are buyers willing to take the chance? Let us enlighten them.


Ebay India is part of global giant Ebay.com Quite clearly, Ebay does not believe in applying fair rules uniformly. I shudder to think what will happen when known rogues such as WallMart opens shopping malls in India.


I will provide readers with an update of my case. Fingers crossed. Meanwhile, I request others who might have had similar experiences to post their grievances at the ebay facebook page(https://facebook.com/ebaydotin) and also elsewhere.  Let the public know. Jago Grahak Jago
