While Windows comes packed with an Firewall many of us find that lacking in security and very difficult to allow/revoke access to a program. Note that Windows Xp SP2's firewall does not blocks outgoing connections.
Zone alarm handles these very well and blocks pretty much any unwanted connection and bounces inbound connections to provide anonymity. Interface is very convenient and every time an program tries to access internet it will ask for your permission, you can choose to allow just that time or grant/block permanently.
Memory Footprint: 3 MB (main exe) + 17 MB Vector monitor.
PS: Your lan connections may not work after installing ZA. To resolve this simply disable firewall for the duration OR create an Trusted group (in ZA) and add lan connection to it.
