Loose ends!. Review on Zodiac - Shirts & Trousers

My review concerns the shirts crafted by Zodiac under the Florentine & Venezia collection.I had brought shirts from Zodiac earlier.Infact I had brought an excellent silk shirt from Zodiac when it first came to the market about 15 years back. I was inspired by the catchline of the ad.''The soul of Europe, the spirit of Zodiac''.That shirt believe me, is still giving reasonably good ''service'' after so many years. However the quality of the shirts produced under the Florentine, Venezia & Firenze collection which are comparatibly recent productions leave much to be desired.The collection includes shirts crafted in patterns like Herringbone,Dobby, Fil-a-Fil and a choice of collars like buttons-down, French cutaway and others. The threads more than often come out,the collars and cuffs sag after a few months.I had to exchange a shirt under the Florentine collection in a Herringbone pattern 3 times within a span of 2 weeks from Shoppers Stop ,Kolkata due to the threads coming out. I have been wearing branded shirts for the past 20 odd years and do know how to take proper care of these,including designer shirts(pret-a porter) and others.Worse the company seems just not interested in heeding the feedback of the end consumer seriously. I had lodged numerous complains through Shoppers, but to date I notice some of the shirts with the same weaving defect.Zodiac shirts compare poorly with similar shirts like the structured shirts under the Arrow brand name. It also falls hopelessly behind shirts produced under the brand names of Louis Philippe,Van Heusen and Allen Solley, with regards to retention of the shape of the cuffs and collars.Its really very unfortunate:Zodiac deserves better, being a pioneer of sorts among all the above mentioned brandnames in respect of style,design,colour and weaving textures taken into account. I will recommend Zodiac only for its mens' accessories like socks, handkerchiefs and ties and certainly not for its shirts,which are attractive only to look at but fail to sustain the'' feel good ''image due to poor weaving and stiching quality.I do however sincerely hope that the Company literally pulls up its' ''Socks'' to address the Shirts' problem.
