Hundreds of people burst into loud cheers as Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, Farhan Akhtar, Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin arrived in the Capital to promote their forthcoming film. Rahul Devrani reports
After shopping in Jaipur, polishing Gujarati platters, riding a tractor and wearing colourful Rajasthani headgear, it was Delhi’s turn to host the Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara crew for their promotional road trip.
As Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol went from reel to real, alternatively driving their Range Rover, the ZNMD crew enjoyed every bit of their journey. Perhaps the members were not aware of what their last stop Delhi had to offer.
As the news spread in the Capital about the crew’s arrival at a Gurgaon mall, through phone calls, messages and word of mouth, more people gathered to wait earnestly in anticipation of the superstars.
Hundreds of people burst into loud cheers as Hrithik Roshan, Abhay Deol, Farhan Akhtar, Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin came down on a capsule lift only to find every inch of the mall occupied by fans.
Across all floors of the Mall, people jostled for space to catch the best view of the stars and their performance on the tracks from the film. As a result, the escalators at the mall had to be stopped to avoid commotion.
The cast stood up to people’s expectations and joined the crowds in the song and dance. Farhan kick started the concert by singing Senorita as Hrithik and Abhay joined him. Hrithik took everyone by surprise — dancing and showing some of his trademark moves that followed roars of loud praise.
