A convoluted ride of suspense and entertainment. Review on Zinda

Being a huge fan of Sanjay Dutt I watched the film Zinda with anticipation and I wasn’t disappointed. This is a film that keeps audiences enthralled from beginning to end. The film has a strong plot and develops it very well till it reaches its climax. This film is beautifully well made and it tells its story in a kind of way that carries along the audience but also keeps them in suspense. Although I have never been a fan of John Abraham he gave a creditable performance in this film.

The film is about a happily married software designer (Sanjay Dutt) who is abducted and kept locked up for fourteen years. During this time is wife was murdered and he was framed for it. When he was released from his prison he begins his quest to find his jailer, with the help of a female taxi driver named jenny (Lara Dutta). She drives him to restaurants were they sell fried wantons the only thing he got to eat in jail. After he identifies the right place he sees a man acting suspicious and he recognizes his shoes, he chases the man and tortures him into revealing the whereabouts of the prison and his boss. the place turns out to be a jailing service and the boss didn’t know his jailor. He got out of their injured and a strange man puts him in a cab and sends him to jenny’s house. Jenny sends for a doctor and saves his life. His jailer calls him and gives him an address. He goes to the address and finds his old friend. His friend agrees to help him trace the number, he starts to suspect jenny and he confronts her during this his friend calls and says the call came from the house opposite jenny’s, he rushes there and comes face to face with is jailor Rohit (John Abraham), he is told he has four days to find out why he jailed him for 14 years. After Rohit leaves he has to rescue jenny and they leave for the outskirts of town. When Rohit pays them a visit in the middle of the night he realizes he had bugged and goes to remove it. He discovers Rohit was from his school, he calls his friend to inquire about him and realizes that he was the brother of the girl he lied that he had slept with when he was in school. After killing his friend Rohit talks to him and tells him where to come and meet him. On getting there Rohit completes the story of how everyone made jest of his sister and how she killed herself as a result. Rohit also reveals to him that he has a daughter and at that moment someone was about to sleep with his fourteen year old daughter. After Rohit mistakenly dies with the help of jenny he locates the place his daughter was being kept, he reaches there amd kills everyone but still coulnt find his daughter. When he had given up he receives a phone call from his daughter she was at home, and he went home to meet her.

The actors performed excellently in this movie. Sanjay Dutt gave a very convincing performance as a tormented soul and John Abraham did what he those best look fierce and serious. With a gripping plot and excellent performances this film is a must watch for everybody.
