Help & Support:

Bought this RO purifier a week ago and so far, so good. Bot it for 15, 200/-

The first two tank cycles tasted odd - almost plasticky. But now, it pretty much tastes like any bottled water. So, that's good I suppose.

Durability: too early to tell. The tap, which is the only moving part, seems durable. Don't know of the inner workings - like the pump, and so on.

Ease of Cleaning: honestly, I hope there is no need to clean the tank. Why should there be given that pure water is being stored there? It bothered me that most purifiers provide tank cleaning options. Would violate the integrity of the system. This one has too - but I will not want to open it to 'clean'

Service and support: haven't required post sales service yet. But they were very prompt in setting it up. The sales person was also more hungry, which to me is a good sign.

The look: now this is something that you could feel either way about. The tank has a green light at the bottom near the tap which is always on. When the tank is filling up, more green lights come on at the bottom. You could think of it as an eye sore, an aquarium like thing in your kitchen - but you may like it if you are into that kind of thing. It's not too loud and garish - so even if you are of the former variety, you could possibly live with it.

What I liked about this over other makes/models:

Aquaguard RO: units were too large. The Duo & the Total Sensa are really really big. Like one of those mini bars one finds in hotels. Too big for kitchens in my opinion. I was really taken by the functionality that was packed into these units. Especially the Sensa. Really appealing and I was inclining towards one. But the size and the poor online reviews moved me away.

Kent: the fact that they bypass the RO unit for a portion of the water being purified did not make sense to me. They rely on UV only for that portion. UV is a bacteriostatic - which only deactivates bacteria. They do not kill the bacteria or remove it physically (as RO would) .   Plus, their service seemed poor.

PureIT Marvella RO: I was liking these units. Simple functionality. I liked it that the tank was not removable for cleaning - with the availability of a liquid disinfectant that could be added periodically through an inlet to clean the unit. What I did not like was the tap - seemed fickle. The units were also large - similar or slightly smaller than the Aquaguard ones. Plus the online reviews were 'too positive' - a lot of very positive reviews from one time reviewers without too many details. Almost like it was fabricated/doctored.  Not sure if it was or wasn't, but it made me uncomfortable.

Hope this helped.

Cheers.
