Let me start off by saying one thing, if it would not have been for The Alchemist (by the same author), very few people would have picked up this book for reading. Although, it cannot be compared with what The Alchemist achieved, it is still worth a read mainly because of the way in which Paulo Coelho succeeds in making us relate to the story in the book. It is a typical Paulo Coelho work with scenarios that would make you relate to the book and its philosophy very easily. This book can also help you change your perspective towards your life. If you fail to establish the relation with the book and the main characters, then I bet that you would be unable to finish this book. This book is based on the story of a writer whose wife leaves him without any word and as a result of his attempts to forget his wife how he discovers a new way of living that would change him forever and make him a person his wife always wanted him to be. The way this book has been written, it gives you a feel that you a reading an autobiography, as Paulo Coelho has framed himself as the main character and indirectly refers to his previous work and how he comes up with the philosophical ideas for his book. Buy this book only if you are not looking for some action packed adventure but are looking for some thing with which you can relate to and think about your perspective towards your life.
