Whenever A R Rehman is in the scene of music one would certainly want to listen it, not only because he has
tremendous track record but the innovation he provided in the music. Every time he is expected to do something different he always blessed us with the beyond
thoughts results. Now coming to this current attraction the album in all
consists of 8 songs with one remix. After listening to each song I am not able
to believe that every song has its own identity and genre of music. Lets go
song-by-song and see what the album offers.
DOST
Benny Dayal & Shreya Ghoshal
Yodeling starts and violin gets
entry in a groovy manner simply impressive, here you with “Tu Hi Meri Dost Hai”.
Use of Chorus is just amazing in the whole track. Persian language used very
frequently by Gulzar Sahab in this album some words are used in chorus which
sounds nice. Every piece of instrument used is soothing. Benny Sung fine while
Shreya is ok in the song. People who like different kind of music would
certainly love this song. Though the tune is quite difficult and it takes time
to get on to you but when it gets you won’t be able to avoid it. One of the
Best track of 2008.
TU MUSKURA
Alka Yagnik & Javed Ali
Again a very difficult tune with
some unexpected lyrics & it also needs repeated listening to get on to you.
It is amongst the most melodious songs ever produced by Rehman. After the
Mukhda the instrumental piece refer to Tu Hi Meri Dost is just amazing, so as
the Sargams by Javed in the middle of song. A full treat to music lovers.
DIL KA RISHTA
Sonu Nigam, Roopkumar Rathod, A R Rehman, Blaze
Subhash Ghai’s favourite
instrument Piano is used as interlude in all the songs. Unconventional song,
very difficult to digest indeed. Passion and aggression and Dil Ka Rishta,
Gulzar Sahab left me spell bounded in this song. Sonu Nigam can easily put this
song in his best ever’s lot. The song continues in Operas style and Grand
Orchestration just got unbelievable. Hear it to Believe it this is wonderful.
SHONA SHONA
Sonu Nigaam, Srinivas, Karthik, Timmy, Sunaida, Vivienne Pocha, Tina
Pappu Cant Dance was enough this
is not among the songs Rehman can proud of. I tried to listen it but I don’t
know why every time in the middle of song I just get tierd and not able to
listen it fully. Passable track. Moreover the Song has a Remix version which is
in Hip-Hop Style, it reminds of Very Bad Songs in 80s.
MASTAM MASTAM
Sonu Nigaam, Alka Yagnik, Naresh & Benny
Lyrics are not understandable
because of use of Persian by Gulzar Sahab. Tune is amazing no doubt. Sonu is in
full form so is Alka. I found this as the best tune in the album, very original
very ear pleasant. Rehman used the Doubling effects in Sonu’s voice very
nicely. Lyrics could be down-sider otherwise from my side this song is strongly
recommended to everyone. Programming of Song is strongest among all.
ZINDGI
Srinivas
What you say about orchestration
its just amazing. Thanks to Gulzar Sahab for nice lyrics and Soothing vocal by
Srinivas. Emotional song can have this kind of treatment I cant imagine. Full
marks to Rehman for this improvisation. Again a strongly recommended song.
Manmohini Morey
Vijay Prakash
Riaz practice in the end Lat
ulghi sulghaa ja re balam, good fusion by Rehman. It shows his versatility that
he never afraid of attempting different. Nice use of Tu Muskura instrumental in
the song. Overall a nice attempt.
Thousands of composers around the
space but why everytime it’s A R Rehman who provides different and decent
soundtrack, its only gives one conclusion that he is the BEST. All songs in
this album are very melodious and tunes are very very difficult so it might be
difficult for people to get the tracks easily but these needs repeated
listening to get to the music. I can easily say it is an attempt towards experimentation
and needs at least one look. YOU WILL LIKE IT AS I DID.
