Yuvraj singh is the son of former test cricketer yograj singh who played for India.Yuvraj singh is one of da imp match winner of Saurav Gangulys 11 man army.He was Indias #1 player in natwest series scoring in every match and in crucial situations. I am a die hard yuvi fan right from the very first game he played for India. He was the PLAYER OF THE TOURNAMENT IN U19 WORLDCUP.His knocks in u19 wc were simply brilliant. He is a very gifted and a destructive batsmen. He is cool headed and da best fielder in the indian cricket team.

YUVRAJ SINGH made his debut at the mere age of 18 against Australia in ICC KNOCK OUT 2000 and boy o boy what a debut he had. He was being compared to Tendulkar after his first 2 innings(84 of 64 balls against Australia and quickfire 41 against Sa in the following match)

A star was born at Nairobi Gymkhana on October 7,2000,when India outclassed invincible Australians. What was amazing with India’s win was the fact that it was achieved without major contributions from Tendulkar, Ganguly and Dravid - the top guns. Coming into bat when India had lost Tendulkar,Ganguly and Dravid with only 90 runs on the board, a 18 year lad from Chandigarh namely Yuvraj Singh did not show any signs of nervousness. This left handed attacking batsman has made his international debut in the previous game against Kenya but did not get a chance to bat.He cracked the very second ball he faced to the boundary to open his account. Infact his first three scoring shots were fours all executed with sheer timing and with fierce power. It took Yuvraj only 47 balls to complete his maiden fifty in One-day internationals which was studded with eight fours.Showing a great temperament Yuvraj did not slow down even though he lost the partners at other end at regular intervals. It was only after 80 balls that he played a false stroke which brought his downfall. India could reach a score of 265 mainly due to Yuvraj’s innings. As if it was not enough,Yuvraj made a great impact on the match when Indians fielded.

The Australians began well, and the fact that they had a long batting line up caused some worry in the Indian camp. Ian Harvey sent out as a pinch hitter was going along well on 24 before Yuvraj Singh put an end to it all. Diving headlong in the cover region, Yuvraj plucked the ball out of the air stunning the Aussies into silence. His catch turned the tide in the favour of the Indians. His youth and vigour inspired the Indians to new heights on the field. Every man was on his toes. As if that wasn't enough, Yuvraj pulled off another stunner. This time a direct hit from mid off that got rid of the ever so dangerous Michael Bevan which was the turning point of the match.

One can not recall any other instance since Sachin Tendulkar’s debut when a young lad made so much of impact on a match. Rarely has Sachin Tendulkar been outshone in a match but this was the day when a 18 year lad took the limelight away from Tendulkar.

Yuvraj now holds the Indian record of playing the highest individual innings on his first appearance on the crease. The previous record was on the name of Brijesh Patel who made 82 against England at Leeds on 13-07-1974.Yuvraj now leads the table of nine Indians who have scored a fifty in their first innings in One-day internaionals.

At 18 years 300 days Yuvraj became the second youngest to score an individual fifty for India after Sachin Tendulkar who made 53 against Sri Lanka at Pune on 05-12-1990 at the age of 17 years 225 days. The world record is held by Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi who was just 16 years and 217 days old while making his maiden fifty.

HE HAS PLAYED MORE THAN A DOZEN OF MATCH WINNING KNOCKS FOR INDIA.

The most remarkable ones are 98* against sri lanka in coc cola cup, 84 against australia, 64 against england, 2 knocks of 80 against zimbawe, ENTIRE NATWEST SERIES AND NATWEST FINAL and he been involved in many run outs, direct hits, stunning catches and useful partnerships with Rahul DRVAID.He manages a career strike rate of 90 which is very destructive. He is a very hard hitter of the ball and Tenulkar once said taht he has not seen the bigger hitter of ball than yuvraj singh in his entire carrer

THE FURTHER PROOF OF YUVRAJ SINGHS MATCH WINNING ABILITIES IS THAT HE HAD SCORED 8 HALF CENTURIES AND INDIA HAS WON ALL OF THOSE MATCHES.AND NOT ONLY THAT. YUVRAJ SINGH HAS WENT PAST 30 ON MORE THAN 11 OCCASIONS AND INDIA HAS WON ALL THOSE MATCHES.

ALMOST ALL OF DA RUNS YUVRAJ SINGH HAS SCORED ARE WHILE CHASING.

He loves to play under pressure.NOW THAT IS AWESOME cuz Indian are known for choking and here we have a individual who loves to scores when it matters da most. His strike rate is phenomenal. He is as destructive of a batsmen as veeru is.

I think he should be promoted up da order to #3 when India is batting first and should come at #5 while India is chasing.

Good luck to yuvi
