Vey few people have this unimaginable ability to picture what they think and then convey it so beautifully to the public that one often remains awestruck...... This is Naseeruddin shah for you... he has the potentiality and a great sence of direction wherein he can convey a small and ordinary plot of story to a beautifully captured film.
"YUN HOTA TOH KYA HOTA" is a well made and well directed film and theres no flaw whatsoever in this film which can be said as unwanted or undesirable. The story revolves around the concept of understanding and empathising with one of the most tragic incidents in the world.
There are four stories involving a pool of good actors for namesake, konkona sen, jimmy shergill, Irfan, aiyesha, paresh rawal... It would not have been a huge task bringing out the best from the characters individually since this is the cream slot of our bollywood industry. If one deeply analyses each of the stories then we can commend the director for such a fine piece of art.
Story begins with the introduction of each major actor of the four plots. Paresh rawal is a show organiser. He takes young talented dancers and singers abroad for a stage show. In comes Ratna Pathak Shah, she tells him that since her husband is a drunkard and not worried about their family, she wants her daughter to go abroad as she is a good singer. Paresh later comes to know that she is his daughter which makes him take her personally to New York.
Jimmy shergill and Konkona sen are married and now Jimmy has to go to New York for his job and after six months konkona would go. Staying with Jimmy's psychic sister and unreasonable mother made Konkona get frustuated soon. So one fine day, she goes to the visa office and gets a tourist visa done.
This new actor with Aiyesha is one great admirer of hers. He is M.B.B.S and now wants to do his MS in New York, but he is not getting his Visa. Fair enough he gets his visa done and now is all set to fly down there where his friend from India is awaiting.
Irfan is a family man who has fallen for a dancer (ball dancer) who also happens to be body-seller. he gets a call for his green card due to which he has to shift to new york. He wants this lady to accompany him which she refuses due to do so because of obvious reasons.. :-) so he leaves without her.. heart-broken!!!!
Now, at the airport we see paresh rawal with his daughter, Konkona sen and the new actor (sorry .. I forgot his name). Irfan has already reached New york. Konkona decides to wear a saree since she is meeting her husband after a long time.. (sweet, na?).. listen now, Madam konkona misplaces her boarding pass and is unable to board the flight.......
The plane takes off and withing minutes the terrorist began their play.... Scene 2: Irfan is in World Trade Center and is waiting for his uncle on 13th Floor. Suddenly he sees that theres a plane heading towards the building, flying very low. He goes up to the window and then the truth settles down... he realises that the plane is not piloted and now is going to enter the building and most probably into the same floor he is in..........
This scene is of a million dollars worth..... everyone in the plane realise that all of them will die..... and outside the plane Irfan knows this...... all the actors' expression feeling and acting abilities are absolutely amazing.... Thats the only scene you can wait upto for three hours!!!!!......
Believe it or not... its a beautifully made film and its a must watch for everyone....... Happy watching guys!!!!
