I cannot be the only one who waited for Yu Yutopia for 2 months of wait.Seeing those Posts THE BEAST IS COMING or THE MOST POWERFUL PHONE IS COMING and those cliche teasers.Needless to say I was really excited for this budget phone with all the questions like is this gonna be best phone I ever owned?, is it going to be a flagship killer or am I going to get all the best specs of a 30-50k phone in a budget? Is it going to be a hit just like Yuphoria, Yunique and Yureka! A lot of people I know of rich classes even waited for this product.In all 2 months Yu teasing us with camera photos( nobody or atleast I did not cared about it, all I wanted was phone photos and specs), which in my opinion was a waste of money.I mean who cares about a rich guy cruising around in his expensive i8 and posting pictures of exotic locations? Its not a Car launch anyway, I just don't understand this marketing logic.So anyways just like you I waited, saw the live launch webcast and I'll say I was not tottaly disappointed but I had only one question FROM WHAT FRIGGIN ANGLE ITS THE MOST POWERFUL PHONE? and not to mention extra lines like ON THE PLANET. WHAT!? Seriously? I wont say it was bad but it was certainly not The most powerful phone.So anyway I ordered it just because I waited too long for it and recieved it on 28th Dec.But after using it for a week I returned it and asked for a refund.Why? Let me give you a brief detail.
I am going to give a breif review things I loved and things I didn't liked.Just because I returned the phone I am not going to shadow its Good aspects.
When I looked at Yutopia I must tell you honestly the C.E.O must have tried convincing me how much premium it is and how everything is made from pure metal and How the antenna bands around the chassie looks premium but for me it was not pretty at all for a premium phone.It doesn't look a Flagship device at all. Even the One plus x of 17k being 8k less than Yutopia its still a really premium looking device and such a beauty to hold and operate.But when Rahul said its the best design Yu team has ever created I barfed a little .Its design is nothing more than a metal version of Yuphoria with a protruding camera that does not look pretty for me, and I am sure many people will agree with me.Though its a 5.2 inch device you will notice the bezels at the bottom are way to big for not having a physical buttons present.Its not an eyesore actually, I used it and I got used to it too.Also there is a thing about notificatiom LED .Now I don't rebel the idea but having it at the bottom is a little bit off for me. 7/10 times I picked up my phone by mistake which side is right.Its not a big issue but these things were just making me feel uncomfortable. The back camera protruding also was a worry for me even there are edges around it to protect it I was sure It won't survive.There is headphone jack at top and charging micro usb at bottom just like Yuphoria.Its not a great design because Its also looks like a Nokia Lumia 925.So really no innovation here.So I was not impressed in design part.
I really don't know why it was called a THE MOST POWERFUL PHONE ON THE PLANET because even though the specs are not bad but its definately not upto that hype.The Yu Yutopia is powered by 2.0 ghz Snapdragon 810 64bit octacore Processor with 4gb DDR4 ram.Now the specs are really good here I really liked that fluid experience I was able to play really heavy games with no lags, no stutter, smooth Performance and I also opened 20apps together to check and none of them restarted or refreshed.So this is a really good thing.Also I did not noticed much heat when playing games.But I guess the credit should be given to winter condition as you dont know how it will perform in really heating environment as Snapdragon 810 chipset is really famous for its thermal throtteling.But guess what after 3rd day after an hour or so it heated really too much also the metal body did it part of giving me that really good hot burn feeling.I dont know why it happened as it did not happned when I started using the phone.But I must say the the experience was fluid.I am not going to complain here much, the specs are good enough.
Now this is the catagory the phone really shines. The front is Equipped with sony manufactured 21.7 Mp camera with dual flash with the capability of 4k recording and 120fps slow motion.The front is equipped with 8mp camera.Talking about the rear camera it was able to take the steller shots I have seen in any budget phone in a really long time its just really amazing.The low light photos are amazing and the shots are really clear and crisp.I was really happy with the camera it did heat up though after I took 10-20 high res pics it also tend to get a little warm when shooting 4k videos which is again really amazing shooter.The thing about it is though it is only able to take 120 fps slow-mo.Its nothing new as the phone was hyped too much for its camera as you know other flagships can shoot at 240fps slo-mo.But still a really great shooter I must say. The front is also great however in low light conditions its not an amazing performer but also still a great selfie lover camera.The double tap to fingerprint scanner also comes in handy. So 9/10 here for camera.
The fingerprint scanner is also one of its attraction.But hold your excitement .The finger print scanner I used was really good it works almost most of the time but at 3rd day it will just wont work at all.I mean it just wont detect my fingerprint at all.I tried for 10 times to get it opened.Though there is also a pattern lock but then what is the point of a fingerprint scanner than.Also when these things started happening I also noticed how slow it was.I am not saying its really slow as some people will say it takes 5 seconds to open their phone through pattern then what is 1.5-2 seconds deal? Its not that actually if you see the fingerpront scanner of Coolpad Note 3 which is 16k less costly than Yutopia you will notice it opens the phone in just 0.5 seconds.Every time, I mean 8/10 times.Its really fast like a nexus 6p which is 30k costlier .You get the idea what I am saying.I don't know if its a software bug and if it is it need to be fixed really soon.
Here the screen is really the amazing thing in this phone.A 5.2 inch screen phone with 2k 570ppi display.The thing is that.Its just an LCD not big of a deal actually.Also its only a 5.2 inch display.The C.E.O Rahul said it fits in your hands.C'mon! If I wanted a phone that fits in my palm I'll buy a nokia.In a flagship 5.5 inch should be a norm.But still not complaining much I really enjoyed the display. The phone screen looked pretty when it was off and also when I used it .In short really loved it and watching video was really a good experience.
The yutopia is equipped with a 3000 mah battery.When you launch awith device with high specs and high screen res.You should know the battery requirements .The high specs and display are nothing if the lifeline battery is not upto the mark.That is exactly how I felt.The battery is really not powerful for this phone and you should really not Trust cynogen for bettery optimisation.Its just simply not efficient enough.Having such a great display I played games, used whtsapp, Facebook, Youtubing, and camera video shooting also.Standard moderate usage I was able to get 3: 40 hours of screen ontime.Really not a good achiever for the best smartphone.But still it may vary some even may be able to get 4-4: 30 hours.But the battery thing just didn't worked out for me.
Things to like about the cynogen is its customization.You can just do almost anything with it and its a really great thing.Also it comes with features like double tap to wake and double tap to lock is somthing I personally love about cynogen.Also few features like Draw O for camera and V for flashlight are also really amazing and many more for you to explore that I can't mention because there are simply too much.But there are also a bad side of it too.Even though its full with may features its also way to buggy still being on 12.1 on top of Lollipop 5.1.1 even marshmellow is out.Things like apps crashing, restarting and then optimising the apps, themes getting reset on reboot, double tap to wake getting disabled itself and have to turn it on again, Double mirror images while playing games.Camera for few seconds not responding and then its crashing definately not something you would want when taking quick shots.No more memory error When clearly 19gb is free but it doesn't happen quiet often.The cynogen is still buggy .Even though cynogen is really good its still not as good as stock android.Stock android is very stable, doesn't crash, doesn't give troubles as much as cynogen and also not as buggy.So certainly choice for a lot of top mobile manufacturers out there.Still its good nut definately not bug free at all.
- CALL RECEPTION AND CLARITY& STORAGE
Yutopia comes with a hybrid sim slot you can either have DUAL one nano sim or a micro sd card uptp 128gb even though there is a good 23 gb you get so no worries storage.And talking about call everthing was good here, I did not had any dropped calls sometime I did mainly because of bad service area.But call clarity wad good both the sides.Not much to mention here
Having a fingerprint scanner gives you liberty of privacy and having NFC helps you do a lot like google wallet google pay etc and like paying bills and getting money transfer from mere touch of a finger.But they didn't decided to give this such a cheap feature just because most people don't use it.Well not may people like Yu products too.So they should not buu it also? No everything should be given a choice and an option.But they didn't .I still shake my head why as it was Hyped as the most powerful phone and no such basic and futureproof thing like NFC.All the sensors but no NFC.Yu know why!
Well now the reason I returned the phone because it was just not the phone Yu hyped so much it was just like NAM BADE DARSHAN CHOTE so after using the phone I was really not into it.It was just not a device for me and everything I mentioned above.It was just. Very uncomfortable Buggy and the design was just not great for me and polarising.
And also the customer service of Yu is having no service at all I had to replace my defective Yuphoria and it took 60 days just for that with a huge headache and feeling of me being cheated by someone also no toll free service .So I just liked to play safe and returned it.But anyways I hope it helps You for your Purchase .Comment it you liked it or for any questions.
