Yu Yureka is the first smartphone launched by the Yu televentures. Yu Yureka is priced at low budget smartphone. It is priced under 10k budget. Yu televentures offers a lot of customization on top of the Android OS because of the custom ROM. Yu Yureka comes with Cyanogen custom ROM. Let's get straight to the review.
Design : The device has a rectangular design and looks flat from most of the angles except the roundness on sides. The device is flat from the front and rear part. Front is dominated by the display, above the display there are earpiece, front camera and usual set of sensors. Rear of the smartphone has the camera module and the light blue colour YU branding. Power button us on the right hand side and volume rocker is on the left. The device is made out of plastic and looks good. It is also lightweight. As far as deign is concerned the Yu Yureka is a good looking device.
Display : Yu Yureka comes with a 5.5inch HD display. A HD display might look dull on paper but display is quiet good and produces right amount of colour. Contrast level is good. Display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Display is quiet good. Viewing angles are also good. Display is a tad bit reflective and sunlight legibility is just okay.
Camera : it comes with a13MP rear and 5ML front. The shots click in the well lit conditions comes out good. Rear camera captures good amount of colour. Front camera is equally good and dome it job well. But well it brings to the low lot conditions the quality changes drastically. The camera struggles to manage a good shots. The camera is best described as a average one.
Software : As the device comes with Cyanogen custom ROM. It offers endless customization and a while lot of features. There are many features which you cant find in a stock Android device. You can customize the device by your liking. But you also get a some amount of bloatware. And the custom ROM also comes with some software bugs. The device offers much more customization to the user.
Performance : Yureka comes with a octa core Snapdragon 615 processor the processor is quite fast and offers good performance to the device. The processor is coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The device can handle day to day task easily and a bit of gaming. But when you try to push it hard it shows it limits.
Battery : It comes with a standard 2500mAh battery. It gives you a day when used with very minimal loads. It takes quite a bit of time to charge. It comes with a power saving mode which helps you to extract a bit of more juice from the battery.
Verdict : Yu Yureka is a good device when it launches but now a number of good devices are launched in the market and you can easily find a better device.
