Hello readers,

My name is Tarun. In the month of December, 2008 we had purchased yo speed(top variant at that point of time). Before purchasing, I and my father were in a fix to choose the best one. We had the options of Hero, Optima including Yo. We listed advantages and disadvantages.

=Advantage of Hero and Optima were:=

Lower rate compared to Yo Speed, no need of licence, registration, helmet, insurance, etc.

=Disadvantage of Hero and Optima were:=

Not such a single variant was there having decent speed to compete with yo speed; only 2 batteries; material looking cheap when you compare it with yo speed; worse suspension

=Advantage of yo speed were:=

Speed- It can reach beyond 45km/h. Actually we've been touching the speed of 48km/h till now(thanks to excellent motor), Actually many times, I raced with motorbikes at red lights. For around 10 seconds, I was the winner but after that they geared up and I was the last. But now Yo Exl is also present with 55km/h.

Carrying Capacity- Its carrying capacity was better than the other two(we had test ride all the three and then we reached at the conclusion).

Battery- It had 4 batteries(double of the rivals)

Suspension- Spring coiled at the front and oil-filled spring(like we see in pulsar135 in front)

=Disadvantage of yo speed were:=- Licence, Helmet, Registration, Insurance, Number plate etc required; inferior looks(when comparison was done among honda activa, scooter and yo speed); new company(I think so at that point of time), costlier(around 29, 000 at that point of time:))

After making, above comparison, we decided to go for Yo Speed.

Now nearly 5 years about to complete of purchase, I can proudly say that it was the best decision to go for Yo Speed.

=Reasons:= 1. Till now, its odometer shows more than 14, 000+ km(2500-3000 km extra when odometer wire was broken due to mine over stunting and braking), and still not a very big expense on it.

  1. My father's weight is 80+ and I'm 60+. Still we've traveled more than 35+ km with full speed(I mean speed 45km/h) in recent time. And now my father goes and comes with his friend to the workplace(total weight around 150kg) with total distance around 25km. Hence good batteries.

  2. All those person, who had bought either Hero or Optima have sold/put their Hero or Optima in Garbage/storeroom; and our Yo Speed is still running smoothly.

Now EXPENSES incurred other than service till now:

  1. Wire replacement of odometer for Rs 50

  2. Rear suspension changed for Rs 600

  3. A liquid was put to occur a puncture for  Rs 200(only 6 months before)

  4. Right-left indicator and one horn-button was replace for Rs 300(around 1 year ago)

When you'll compare the expense of engine oil, filter, break oil, clutch plate etc of a bike/scooter; you'll find above expenses as nothing(I know it as I had pulsar135 for my college)

Running cost is very low when you'll compare it with a motorcycle.

In Delhi, the dealer(from which we had bought it) have permanently closed its showroom; but there is another dealer which is nearer than the previous one.

Now I think that I should wind it up as the review has become too vast.

=Final Verdict=

=It's a great value for money. And I wish that we'll have much more happy years with Yo.=
