The roadking has something like an auto clutch.

Thats a cool feature. If you're in 4th gear and any other gear as well and need to glide while negotiating a curve or just going downhill, all you gotta do is depress the gear shift lever with your foot slightly and the bike is in pseudo neutral. Release and its back on the power again.

Girls are impressed when you change the gears all the way from 1st to 4th while your left hand is scratching her behind the ears or just her behind.

You can take off from stand still in 2nd or 3rd gear with no trouble.

One of the best bikes not made any more. It has the power, grace and looks which makes it a classic.

Lines that do not confirm to any school of design unlike the silly pulsars and fiero's which need advertising to sell.

The makers were only interested in creating a purist bike. It is meant to be ridden and ridden hard. At the same time its as easy as driving a kinetic honda. the power comes in at really low revs . It looks cool to chug along at 2 kmph without having to fry the clutch.

No terrain is uncrossable.

Mileage is average 25-30 kmpl but with the ability to cruise all day at speeds upto 110 kmph who cares about mileage.

Have had mine for years. And it rattles as good as the day it came but I aint gonna sell it for the world.

But be aware the bike weighs in at 150 kgs, not meant for your average tam bram types.

If you buy a road king make sure you remove the two mufflers. The original gives a tinny sound but with the mufflers out people all round will move out of the way. After a point it becomes like your signature tune. Folks you know will know instantly its you before you even round the corner. Its a booming resonating sound.

I went to the Yezdi factory last time I was in Mysore. It was so sad and depressing to see the factory looking like a graveyard. Plants convering the buldings and creepers all over the roof.

But well, I guess all good things must end.
