My family and I just got back from a wonderful holiday at yelagiri hills, The hills are only a few hours drive from bangalore and the roads are just superb, Once you reach the top of the hill, you are greated by a picture postcard scenery. This is the season for a particular flower almost like sunflower only smaller flowers and the entire hill was painted with yellow and green. takes your breath away.

There is also a down side, the lake is a big tourist attraction and the crowds can make you feel you are back in a city, also the nature park can get crowded at times, we decided to stay away from the noise and hustle and decided to stay at Le Auroville Resort which is deep in the forest and away from everything.

The lake is just a walk away, but we went for a trek into the jungle arranged by Mike(manager) the guide who took us is Krishna, around 75 yrs old and a very sweet person. there is a pond in the forest which not many people know about and there are some stone benches where people can sit and catch a breath. After a short break, we headed deeper into the forest and reached a huge rock after climbing the rock, we could see the valley below and the clouds were just below us. You have to experience this.

When we reached the resort, Hot vegetarian lunch was served, the array was more than we could sample. and the cost was only 100/- per person. we relished our food after the exhausting trek.

At night we were given our own little bonfire and were served our food next to the bonfire which was so taught full. There was music playing at the back ground and other families sitting around their own bonfires on the spacious lawn.

One good thing we liked about where we stayed is the place is only for families and we have had our privacy and got to meet many other families over the 3 days we spent there.

There are many other hotels and resorts most of them are so commercial and one could find them in any city or town. do something different and enjoy your holidays and get the most value for your hard earned money.
