This is my second review on Yelagiri. You will be terribly shocked if you come to know that the maximum number of reviews being posted in mouth shut is on the worthless so called "hill station" Yelagiri. You know, in the entire mouth shut reviews, (other than Ooty - 95 reviews, Manali-75 and Munnar-85) Yelagiri received about 48 reviews. It's really amazing. Coz, this place cannot be compared to any Hill station at all. I would like to put forth the following unique features existing in the Yelagiri. Please, while reading the following (de)merits of this small village, keep in mind the stay charges and food expenses.

  1. No good and decent food joints around this town

  2. Even in Yercaud, you will find 2/3 places of interest worth seeing. But in Yelagiri, other than a small POND, nothing is there

  3. Yelegiri does not even consider as under 'developping' tourist spot. Kodaikanal, Ooty, Munnar and Yercaud are real hill stations and are fully developed towns

  4. No unique commodities other than jack fruit and 50% adulterated honey.

05 For the expenses you do in Yelagiri, the super alternate is go to Yercaud or Vayanad where the stay and other expenses are much chaper than this place.

I planned to go to Yelagiri just a couple of week before as one of my friend has visited that place recently and told me that it was much enjoyable place. He stayed in Hotel 'O Nila' but that one is "building-building types". I just wanted to check with other kind of stay which should be more than like Hotel. Yes I wanted to stay in RESORT. I searched for, is there any resort over there. Simultaneously I started looking for other people's opinion and their recommandation in Mouth Shut.

Here, I found and strongly felt that some genuine customers had a very bitter experience with one particular resort and the resort guy himself wrote big promotional kind article about his resort through this "review". If you read the review submitted by Brave Bear, amberrose, La Auroville and rainbow resort, you will understand that these reviews are submitted by only one person i.e. the owner of the resort. Because these reviews are focussed more on the so called resort but not on the place and environment. I strongly object this way of approach to promote his Resort through this media. This mouth shut has been started to give clarity to a customer/consumer the pros and cons about the products/services. **I request Mouth shut should take necessary steps to delete these promotional reviews posted by the owner himself from this page with immediate effect.

I have gone through patiently all the reviews posted here about Yelagiri and as far as my observation, a genuine customer's review - munvar, has faced terrible experience with this Resort owner and his employees. He mentioned the bill they charged and narrated of how he had a very unpleasnt holidays with his family even after spending more than Rs.12, 000. Its really pathetic and sadden me over his experience. I strongly condomn the attitude extended by the resort owner and his false information. It actually breaks the hygene of the Hospitality industry.

I could see reviews by some of other customers that they also had gone through the same experience with the same resort. To name a few, Oberoi, munvar, Blr IT guy.. etc etc. The power of mouth shut is so great that this guy has changed the name of his resort to La Auroville now.

So guys read carefully, identify correctly between genuine customer and service provider who is blowing his own trumpet over here. I wish you all the Best.
