I had tried to book a ticket on website yatra.com on the 2nd of May, 2013 for which a ticket could not be issued but my credit card was charged an amount of Rs 18070. I had contacted their support with the requisite details innumerable times, alongwith proof of the bank document stating that the money had been charged. I can quote the final email from their side on the 4th of May, 2013 which said the following -
"Dear Mr. Chakrabarti, Greetings from Yatra.com This is with reference to your email dated 4th May 2013, regarding unconfirmed booking. We would like to inform you that as we have checked our database and found that payment was not charged from our end so requesting you to please contact your bank regarding this and you can use our website again for making booking as your booking was not confirmed in your previous attempts."
IN SPITE OF THE SAME, YATRA.COM CLAIMED THE AMOUNT FROM MY BANK ON THE 6th of May.
I believe this is a gross error on your part and you people at yatra.com are irresponsible and careless whereby pay no heed to your customers' concern. My father is a pancreatic cancer patient and he is facing tremendous mental and emitional stresses. Also we had tried to book on your site as you had showed the lowest fares. But now we are facing tremendous harassment with such a large sum of money being billed on my account. Also, we had to book our tickets paying more money from a different website.
Thank you, Deep Chakrabarti
