After a long long time a true masterpiece came on hindi cinema's screen. Last time it was Gaja Gamini by M.F.Hussain in the year 2000 and was such a brilliant film that covers almost evrything in a very abstract but fascinating way. I wonder how the people like Taran Adarsh became film critics who do not understand brilliant piece of art and labelled Gaja Gamini as'waste of raw material time and celluloid material' and labelled'Yatra' as highly disappointing.
Infect Yatra is such a film that comes in years. It has the abstract narration that a fertile and profound mind will understand and enjoy not a pervert like Taran who always give stars to film according to boxoffice potential, gives 4 stars to junks like Rok sako to rok lo, main hoon na and deewana huey paagal etc and poor ratings and only one and half star to cinematic gems like Swades and Black.
Yatra is a story of the journey of the mind of a writer just like MF Hussain's Meenaxi, who sees human beings in various modes and avatars, at various places and classes of socitey just like Gaja Gamini. The director of the film already made another classic film PAAR that also shows his brilliant as a genius creative minded captain of the ship.
Nana Patekar as writer and Rekha in various shades gave performance of their life. Cinematography is brilliant and shockingly eye catching. Rekha looks stunning even in this age specially in a notch woman avatar.
On the whole a must watch movie for everyone who has mind and taste for classics like YATRA.
