Good package but bad customer service. Review on Yatra

I don't prefer package tours and had to book a package to Leh-Ladakh with Yatra.com as flight fares from Delhi to Leh and back were exponentially high in June 2013. I assumed its all cause of these travel agencies who prebook and in groups, these tickets.

Package cost ex-Bangalore for 8 night 7 days was 41.5k, all inclusive. Our package included a night stay at Delhi. This is because our flight to Leh from Delhi was at 5.15am. I had called customer care several times regarding pick up and drop facility from Delhi airport to Hotel. But there was no pickup and when I called the customer care they said its not a part of the package! I called up the guy who booked my tickets and he accepted there was supposed to be taxi facility. Then they asked me to arrange taxi on my own and that they will reimburse the cost incurred. They asked me to mail them the amount. Now they are asking me for taxi receipt! Where will I get that from? This is going to be a fight with Yatra.com and hope it will be resolved soon.

Except for the taxi issue everything else went according to plan. Hotels in Leh-Ladakh were good, staff was courteous and helpful. Food was good or sometimes decent enough. Most places in the itinerary were covered. Transportation was in Scorpio and driver and vehicle were good too. Yatra provides a person as contact and a guide throughout the trip. Contact guy was not much communicative. Guide was good but used to explain things only when you ask else he would stay still most of the times. They try to hurry at places but you can always insist on staying there a bit more time.

At Leh-Ladakh weather matters most. We were lucky to have good weather most of the time. Also we got to see snow fall at both Khardung-la and Chang-la passes in June, which doesn't happen every year. The group which went a day before us were able to see nothing at Pangong due to heavy rains. So overall it was a positive tour. Hoping to get my cash back from Yatra for taxi fares.

Food: Mostly veg includes roti, dal, 1 subzi, 1 rice, 1 dessert and curds some times. - Overall it was decent

Travel and site seeing: Scorpio, vehicle was in good condition, good driver.

PS: Still waiting for my taxi fare refund:-)
