In the first week of december, we made a plan to visit to Arga for the historical trip on christmas holidays. For the same I made the online room booking from yatra for one of the hotel in Agra i.e. Hotel Taj Mahal. Yatra website was showing the staus of the rooms as available. After making the payment, I got the confirmation voucher for the same on my email-id.


Two days later, I got a call from one of the yatra guy saying that your Arga room hotel booking has been cancelled by Hotel guys. When I aksed the reason, he said it was because one of the big group has extended their room booking in the same hotel, So they have cancelled your booking and gave the reservation to that group. On my asking, how they can do the same with my confirmed bookings and why yatra cann't do anything in this matter. I got the answer that yatra does not own the hotel property so hotel management can do anything with the already made bookings. He was giving me suggestions that we have made a room booking on your behalf in some other hotel. I was so much fed up with his suggestions that I straightforwardly denied him and asked him to cancel my request and refund me the amount that I already paid for that. He hang up the phone immediately.


Next day, I called up their customer care center for the same. The lady at the other end told me that there was some problems at their backend that's why yatra website sometime shows the status as 'On book' instead of 'On request'. Actaully your request was made on 'On request' basis. So that was not confirmed and when we asked the hotel for the same they said they don't have the rooms available. I asked her to refund my money, She replied your cancellation request has already been processed and you will get the same back in your account within 2-3 days.


It's already 10 days when I make call again to their customer care center for the refund amount. Very rude lady was sitting there and was saying you will get your refund back in 10 more days. I don't have any clue what went wrong with those guys. Initially two days now twenty days. God only knows when I will be getting my money back.


Hopefully, You guys can make better decision now whether you want to book ticket from them or not.
