Dr. Lalitha Sudha Alaparthi- Gynaecologist at Yashomati Hospital and a resident of Habitat Splendor, changed my world forever. I regret the day when my wife decided to consult Dr. Lalitha for her very first pregnancy.
Unsure, indecisive, Dr. Lalitha sent my wife for tests - 7 doppler ultrasound scans which we now learn were unnecessary and harmful, missed to detect her placenta problem early when led to her miscarriage in her 8th month of pregnancy. Our plans and our world came crashing down when despite all our efforts the doctors at Manipal could not help her placenta problem. We were told that had it been detected even in the 4th month / 5th month it could have been treated and today we would have been blessed with a live born baby boy.
While I walked the distance at Harishchandra Ghat, Malleswaram my mind was filled with thoughts of how Dr. Lalitha mishandled my wife and my now dead son. The morning we made a frantic call to her at 3:30am she banged the phone on us sayinbg "take her to Manipal" and washed off her responsibility. Everytime we asked her questions on the baby she would seem flustered, irritated and uninterested. I strongly believe she is in the wrong profession. She cannot feel for the patient and does not assume any responsibility for her actions. Neither does she gives any decisions- or helps us take one with information that she has access to.
She made us undergo a Cervical Incircalage which was termed UNNECESSARY by senior gynaecologists in Manipal. Even then she went with the radiologists recommendation and was unable to take her own decision on that. Dispassionate about her patients, she always seemed disturbed when we asked her whether the procedure was mandatory. I am posting this post here because I don't want anybody else in this complex to undergo what I went through.
My wife developed a placenta problem wherein the blood supply to the baby reduced in the 6th month and growth retardation set in. Dr. Lalitha, had she been aware/ more vigilant / recommended the right tests and studied the reports well would have easily detected the problem we were told by doctors in Manipal.
I hold Dr. Lalitha solely responsible for the state my family is in and especially what my wife and I are going through. My baby was fully formed structurally and a full head of hair, as I lay him down for the burial, I wish Dr. Lalitha does not get another chance to spoil the hopes for any other new parent.
