I own a 2000 model YBX.From tomorrow I must say " I owned a 2000 model YBX".
Ya.Age has caught up with my angel and fuel consumpition, suspension and comfort has made me move on.From tomorrow I will be riding an Unicorn .so here goes an all appreciation note to a bike on which I learnt riding.
I call it an angel as it has not dropped us even once in the past 9 yrs.
We have been owning this angel from April 2000 and by today would have for sure completed a lakh+(because I got this bike from my brother 4 years ago with a stopped meter reading 53219 km).
My Angel even today matches the Apaches and the Pulsars if not surpasses them in speed and pickup.If this is is the case of an engine( not very well maintained) after 9 yrs.Think of how it would have been in the second year when the engine was at its best.Truely Amazing.The 150s of today would have eaten dust.
The only trouble has been fluctuating fuel consumption(a part of it could have been because of my not so good maintenance).
The handling, reliablity are the best even today.There are many bikes today including the UNICORN which have wet start problems.I managed to drive my angel on roads when engine was covered in water even last year and I just remember very rare instances when the engine got turned off.
Overall my complete bike.and First Loves are always special and this has been my first
