1.After lot of internet search and reviews on various forums I purchased SZR 2012 with self, disc, Kicker for 68K. I wanted a commuter bike with driving pleasure.
2.But not at all excited after purchase.
3.It is worst experience from the so called Japanese bike maker.
4.The 12.1 BHP@7500 rpm is not at all mentioned in owners manual. And I very much doubt their claim since it does not feel like a powerful 150 cc bike. The pickup is poor.
5.The engine is noisy and at slow speeds it knoks. The so called Yamaha quality is absent.
6.The company is so lax that it does not set idling rpm of 1300-1500 in factory but leave it to dealer.(There is check-list provided by company before delivery)
7.The plastic mudguards are of poor quality.
8.Chain cover is made of plastic. For what? Even Bajaj boxer which is cheapest vehicle provides metal cover.
9.There is no mention of YTPS. Only mention of BS26 Carb.
10.The tool kit is of worst quality. Even you can procure better one from footpaths of Mumbai.
There is no tool box. Even no place to put registration and insurance papers. No helmet lock.
The seat is made of plastic with minimum cushion.
The brake pedal, gear shifter are nickel eletroplated and not chrome plated which even bajaj's lowest priced vehicle has.
The battery is exide MX Freedom with no serial no. and date of manufacture. I don't know whether this is called maintenance free battery.
15.Overall frustrating experience. No wonder Yamaha sales figures are miniscule in spite of having a long inning in India.
- I should have gone for Hero Achiever at 67 K or VFM Suzuki Slingshot at 57K or Honda shine at 62K
17 I still remember the whistle like firing of shine and slingshot.
Positive points are Looks, paint quality
This vehicle is definitely no VFM in fact it is overpriced for this quality.
I suggest prospective buyers of motorcycles to test drive their friends vehicles before deciding on any vehicle. I relied only on internet as I did not got chance to test ride these vehicles.
After second service
It is giving only 35kmpl same issues.
After Fourth Service
Still not happy with the Yamaha. The black painted body paint has come out at may places and showing corrosion now. No charm in driving. Petrol drinker.
After 5th Service /One year
The bike is still the same literally SUCKS. No driving comfort, less power(even 125 cc bykes have better tourque), poor paint quality, poor mileage of 35kmpl.
