My baby is with me for 8 years now.

Got it on my 18’Th birthday.

Still going strong...

Never let me down, never made me feel that my wallet is getting lighter.

Its one gem of a bike if u ask me...

No unnecessary visits to the garage...

Now its been over a year since i’ve been to the garage...

Its about time I changed the oil and tightened the chain, clean the air filter but no matter what you do still never lets u down....

still gives me 40Km/ltr

no rust (chrome), paint still gleams like new...

the cradle gathering a little rust now got to get it painted...

and mind you the ride can be a bit harsh but stability make up for this…

You just would not believe how stable it is.

Top speedis limited to around 110Km/hr (As seen on the odo) if it’s well tuned and maintained…

Wheelies are simple…

Brake needs some more bite…

Unlike the RXZ’s most guys have seen (Disc brake, Big exhaust (with cat) to meet emission)

My RXZ is the old one and in this the power is limited to 12.5bhp and the other major difference is the number of gears (sorry only 4) yes it does need a 5’th to stretch its legs.

I haven’t done any modifications to my bike. Err… except for the tyre up-sizing.

Would you believe the stock tyre size was

Front 2.5x18 (4pr)

Rear 2.75x18(4pr)

Yes, exactly NUTS. I’m not sure what escorts were thinking…

I did change it to

Front 2.75x18 4pr (27psi)

Rear 3.00x18 6pr (30 single, 32 pillion)

my recommendation

After I had a very anxious moment when I took a friend for a spin.

Now I have Zappers but its no good in the rain. So thinking of changing it.

After I finished the run-in period

(below 60Km/hr for1000kms company recommended)

I did more than 2500Km before I let him loose.

No matter what others might say, hey it is after all your bike not others so… better to treat him good.

Always do small increments, take it to 70 then 80 and make sure you spread this out over a period of around 1000Kms until you give it full juice. This might sound stupid to most people but believe me my bike is a lot quicker than most of the stock RXZ’s, RXG’s, 135’s I know.

When me and my friends timed it (sorry no fancy timing equipment)

using only a stopwatch it did touch an indicated 100Km/hr in 13.69 sec

Yeah yeah for every one who is obsessed with Mileage Kya Hai ??

Believe it or not I have actually got 63Km/ltrYes that is the ''Maximum Mileage'' I got to this day and the lowest being 18Km/ltr

On a regular commute cycle it will give 35-45 Km/ltrdepends on how cruel you are with the throttle.

Sweeping corners, hairpin bends, open roads, no roads at all..!!

Still takes everything with stride.

Flicability through traffic is unbelievable. Very sure footed.

Back end can be a bit loose when riding single, but once you get the hang of it its quiet fun.

Time to be really honest

Likes

Yamaha Image (doesn’t go down too well with cops)

Reliability

Solid feel, Stability

Paint, chrome quality

Dislikes

It really does need a Disc Brake.

Suspension (rear) can be a little hard.

Tacho cable had to changed 4 times.

Poor headlight (Changed if to Halogen)

Vibrations at around 5000rpm mark (peak torque output at this range)

Still makes me smile no matter how pissed off I’m

I love my bike!

Bike=Yamaha.

Nothing More Nothing Less

And yes I know it is inconvenient but use your head use a HELMET
