Hi guys , im here to review the bike that I own and love very much. ive got an RX135 4 speed (2003 model with cat. convertor) .

As a kid I had only sat on bikes / riden pillion on 2 stroke motorcycles . I fell in love with the Yamaha strokers as my brother would drop me to school everyday on either his RD350 or his RX100...i loved the handling , the throttle response , the exhaust note , the ease with with it glided on the road..and it also had the power to scare me...i had decided that when I grew up I would only buy one of those. as I grew older most of my friends where into shoguns and RX's and naturally since I was also a two stroke lover myself, I felt at home. I decided to buy the RX135 cas it was the only ''performance'' 2 stroke that I could buy brand new straight from the showroom. And thats what I wanted a Brand New Bike. And the RX135 is still available in some select outlets so you will have to hurry if you want one!

What I love about this bike is its simple , rugged looks , its decent performance , its beautiful handling , its addictive exhaust note , its maintainance - FREE running and the availablity of quality parts. But the best thing I like about the RX135 is that it is the perfect bike for both sections of the consumer market , the milage crowd as well as the performance crowd. At present my RX135 has been modified and does a top speed of 130km/hr + and gives me a milage of 30km/l .

When the bike was stock it used to have a top speed of 110km/hr (downslope!! with yezdi tyre rear but ive changed to stock rim now) and returned a milage of 48km/l ..the stock RX135 has a cat. convertor (black silencer) that weighs 8-10 kgs! and she is a very restricted bike due to the emmission norms but it still has great pick up and milage with all these restrictions from Yamaha and these restrictions are very easy and cheap to correct.

If you are a person who wants milage , pickup , maintainance free riding my suggestion would be get the RX135 4 speed. ofcourse do not expect 60km/l but I think something close to 50km/l is really really good for a 2 stroke machine and you will be kicking splendor and TVS Victor a$$ when it comes to speed...even CBZ's and Pulsar 150's for that matter...and if you are a guy would loves performance bikes but cant really afford it ( like the RD350) go for an RX135 5 speed ..this bike got better performance than the RX135 4 speed but it gives a little less milage than a 4 speed. A slightly tuned RX135 5 speed will be faster than all bikes being sold in the Indian Market rite now other than the Comet and the Bullet 500. However if you want it to go still faster you can..and thats the best part of the RX135 , there are no limitations to performance. There are modified RX135 that have top speed to 155km/hr + and are almost as fast/ faster than an RD350!! Hows that for performance??!! and all this is very affordable. I would call the RX135 the best ''Bang for Buck Bike'' in other words very good VFM!! Have no doubts , the RX135 is a better bike than the RX100 , contrary to what many ppl believe...the RX100 may have better initial but then the RX135 beats it in midrange and in top end , plus an RX100 never gives more milage than 30- 35km/l whereas the RX135 gives you a milage of almost 50km/l , so no doubts which is a better bike...

What I dont like about the RX135 is the brakes ( Disc brake in front please..) , the stock tyres ( please change the stock TVS tyres , and do not put fat ugly tyres as this will drop your performance and milage , use stock size soft rubber compound tyres) , headlight isnt powerful enough , the cat. convertor/ restricted vehicle being sold by Yamaha on the RX135 but thats cas im a performance freak :D , although this is something that can easily be corrected if your a performance freak. The rear shock absorbers are a little bit on the stiff side which makes touring a little uncomfortable but its also what makes the bike handle so beautifully out of turns , and yes the Rear Shocks are Adjustable although I hav'nt tried that , so I cant say that the shocks are a bad thing. Everything else about this bike is just wonderful .. ive done many non stop trips from Bombay to Pune at good speed on my little RX135 and not once has she ever let me down...she handles like a beauty and is also quite stable at high speed contrary to what many people believe , if it isnt stable that would mean ur rim is out..)

The fun and the joy of riding this motorcycle isnt describable...you can out accelerate everybody at the traffic light ( even when the bike is stock!!) the bike feels soo light and the performance seems to come so easy..its just a really fun bike to ride. I love my RX135 she can do alotta things and surprise and those wannabe superbikers in India. She looks simple and mellow compared to the new bikes being sold in the market today but she is a much better performer than them in terms of speed ( atleast my bike is :D ) . I just love my RX135 and I will never sell her for anything else.

I think a person who main priority isnt milage should buy this bike , a person who believes that he should enjoy his ride while Travelling from Point A to Point B , with some thrills and excitement. A person who wants a maintainance free , simple yet a bike with Big Heart . A person who dreams of owning an RD350 one day but cant afford it rite now... (like me :D ) . ok enough said about the love of my life...you make ur decision...its the best value for money bike out there in terms of performance , and if ur not sure about performance , it will still give you preety good milage till you think about modifying her for performance...in other words there are alotta options and scope with the RX135.
