12 long years and still fondly remember the verdict to buy the YAMAHA RX100 in two minutes flat, wondering how one could think of anything but RX!).
So there it was, tall, dark and handsome. For 12 years it has been one faithful machine that has endured the fancies of all those that rode it, besides the beaming owner - who has ridden it at speeds ranging upto 120 kmph and enjoyed every moment.
I have ridden other bikes and driven all there so called mean machines but nothing comes close to the RX 100. The smooth sound is distinctive and the pickup amazing. Oh yes, there is some compromise on the mileage but then it's not a big deal.
There?s very little maintenance overhead, if at all. Not that it cannot be taken on long rides - I?ve done about 280 kms and it does not hurt your rear as much as some of the other seats do. Superb control even when you are flying at high speeds and well, try to get a ride on one to know what I mean...
Even now, there are those who know bikes and cast a look of envy when they see the good ol? RX...sturdy as ever.
