I am writing a review on my new R15 but first of all a really good news, when I recently visited my yamaha showroom to get my RC papers luckily a yamaha motor india engineer was there for creating product awareness amongst the sales guys and on having a little chat with him , he revealed that yamaha is gonna bring out an ECU to remap the engine of R15 so that it can deliver a power of approx 25 ps as compared to the current  17ps and the best part is that they are gonna do it for free under the normal servicing. Now coming back to the R15 my baby , here's the review:-

  1. The front braking of the bike is immaculate. The perforated disc brake up front provides enough bite, while the deceptively skinny MRF Zapper FY tyre deliversmuch more than the required traction to keep the rubber glued to the road under hard braking. Also the front forks are amazingly well sortedoffering sufficient stiffness and refusing to dip under harshbraking.

  2. The exhaust note is well muffled, making the R15 a silent bike. The 100/90-17" MRF Zapper S tyre offers exceptional grip while the rear disc brake supplies enough stopping power to rein in speed.

  3. The R15 looks beautifully sinister when viewed head on, what with its evil twin headlamps. The sleek looking RVMs (Rear View Mirrors) look stylish without killing the functionality. They are foldable and extend wide enough to faciliate a viw of what's happening behind u r back.

  4. The tacho clock on the right is accompanied by a digital display unit with a fuel guage, two tripmeters, one odo and a speedometer. There's a row of lights above the digital display indicating neutral gear, turn signal, high beam, engine malfunction and temperature. The clear visor ahead of instrumentation panel is expansive and deflects a good amount of wind while also enhancingthe aesthetics of the bike.

  5. The foot guard to protect the master cylinder is a small but interesting bit. the 149.8cc, liquid cooled engine produces 17 ps of power, which has been extremely well managed by yamaha to put the R15 at the forefront of performance biking in India.

  6. The R15 is an awesome machine, both aesthetically and functionally. The Deltabox frame enhances stability. The swingarm tapers towards the end to cut costs.Stability and Strength  offered , however, is more than sufficient.

  7. The rear of the bike isn't as aggressive as its front.Yamaha haven't made the rear too rakish to enhance pillion comfort. The split grab rail could have been more functional.

And that concludes the review for now , hope u find it useful  . your suggestions and coments are welcome. take care and happy riding. LUV Nim's.
