I owe my R15 purchase to this group and I thought it is only fair to write a review. I will avoid what has already been said and let me see if I can give some new inputs for future buyers.
If there is one reason why you can buy this bike is its handling. The handling is unparalleled. It gives you amazing confidence riding it. Braking, cutting corners, etc. And yes, I also had lots of reservation about the thin tyres (and they still disappoint when it comes to the looks) but they are best meant for bike. I can easily make high angle turns without losing grip.
I am now at 650 km, and have reached speeds about 110km/hr. I didn't get a road to go beyond, so its not the limitation of the bike. It's true that at low gears it doesn't have much pick up, but if you are comfortable making gear changes, it shouldn't be a problem. At about 5000 rpm and 60km its becomes a rocket!! And that's where you just love being on it.
If your commute would involve very heavy traffic then the riding position may be uncomfortable but despite the looks (big bike full fairing, etc) it is really easy to handle.
At this point, I get a city average of 35km/l with mild heavy traffic and usually driving at higher rpms. Another little bother for everyday user would be no space below the bike seat, so if it rains and even if want to safeguard even your cellphone/purse, its going to be little tight.
Thanks for listening. If you are a new buyer and you would like to more, definitely write me. I will surely respond.
