Unlike its predecessor this new bike comes loaded with a slew of new features including new sporty head light and fuel guage. But it does not have tachnometer(RPM). It has got a new set of air scoops with a honeycomb grille which directs airflow over the engine block and covers the gap between the engine and the fuel tank. Libero G5's frame continues to be the tubular dual cradle type. This bike is quite popular in Bangladesh even though it has been made particularly for the Indian market. It is considered as one of the best looking bikes among its counterparts and in 2007 Yamaha again released the updated version of Libero G5 with the alloy wheels and the electric start.

Engine

Libero G5 bears the same engine with 1 down 3 up gear pattern and the gear shift is very smooth. No hard revs and jerks in the engine and the new modified muffler is to give a silent note. It doesn't have an aluminium cylinder like the Fazer or Enticer though. It's of 4 stroke air-cooled SOHC engine which delivers maximum power of 7.6 PS(5.59 kw) @ 7500 rpm and maximum torque of 0.8 kgf-m(7.85 Nm) @ 6000 rpm.Yamaha has also introduced a compulsive pressure wet sump lubrication system in the 106 cc engine of Libero G5. This new system works with the constant pressure generated by the engine which in turn enables the engine oil and lubricant to flow evenly over the engine components unlike the conventional lubrication.

Design And Comfort

Yamaha Motors is well known for its superior quality and finish they have applied to all their bikes and G5 is no exception. Right from the headlight fairing till the sexy cowl lamp, Libero G5 is a masterpiece. Striking Features of Yamaha Libero G5 are comprised of new graphics cover tail, wider comfortable seat, stylish air scoops, new fuel tank with techno graphics, headlight with aerodynamic cowling and halogen bulb, larger suspension and 5 spoke alloy wheels. It a real bike for those who look for both style and performance.

Ride And Handling

Libero G5 drum brake and 120 mm of largest suspension provide smooth and risk free riding. Comfort of the passengers is maintained by wider, spacious seat. Its lighting arrangement includes new headlight with aerodynamic cowling and halogen bulb for the safety night ride. Gear shift is slick. New refined rear shock is an added advantage and it takes bumps easy. Like most Indian motorcycles, this bike comes with a saree guard frame meant for the safety of female pillion riders. A less sporty looking version with the same engine is marketed as Yamaha Alba. A bigger cousin of this bike with 125 cc engine is Yamaha Gladiator. The fuel efficiency offered by the G5 will be about 55 kmpl in city and over 60 kmpl on the highway depending on riding style.

Hi guys i'm very proud of my Libero Bike( 2004model- green color). I'm very sad about this bike when I purchased this. then I replace its doom and meters with the TVS Fearo F2 doom and meter. it gave my bike a solid look. I never alter Engine till now. I just alter doom, meter and Bumper. doom, meter and bumper are all steel coated. and it's giving 55-60kmpl mileage.

Now all my frnds like this byk. and they all call it as BYRA. and I beat 102km/h by this byk. total ma Libero rocks.
