XMistakes can be brought into notice…to me. First review on Motor bikes. Also I neither m not a biker nor I have rode motorbikes constantly before. I just used to get a hand or two on a yammie rx100 of my friend around 3-4 years back. I wanted to buy a bike and really was very much confused which way to go. I also scanned ms for the same but couldn't get to any decision. Literally I started my search from platina by seeing the ads to SS , then came to victor glx (new one) but somehow personally don't like TVS, but  was glued up by the looks of apache but this bike was  over 60k.

Then my search came across Suzuki and Honda, but finally cornered discover and beleive me till now Yamaha was not in search. Suddenly one day I caught up the gladiator on a TV ad and choose it above bajaj. I don’t remember the name but it was also from a review from one of my friends (might be anyone as don't remember the name) on MS after that. Then searched the market and the net for the same and also purana pyar of Yamaha jaag gaya...I was thinking I had rode one of the best bikes Yamaha has produced in India the great RX100 and how could I leave them aside in my search ...At last I got a Gladiator, and thanks to all of u here for such a superb bike. As I had mailed to many on ms to take there views too..Thanx again guys...

Now about the bike.

  1. As I told I was not so usual to ride bikes but when I rode it first time it never felt that u have to learn how to ride ...started took in first gear and gone....i never felt it will be so easy ...( I didn't took a test ride because of the fact I was not a comfortable rider....it was done by my brother...)...

  2. A very good pick up as never felt any problem....

  3. A sudden jerk when u go to first gear but that is not a problem as told by every one and also I dont feel it every time... except after a cold start when engine is kept idle for more that 8-10 hours..

  4. The best thing is the cornering of this bike is damm easy, can twist and turn and  move it as u want to.. and also on roads between other vehicles its easy to corner and simple to handle in heavy traffic...

  5. A very smooth engine no jerks and can't say about vibrations as maintaining 45-50 kms speed....

  6. Ultra smooth gear shift with almost no sound as the sound it produces is common ...i got the difference between the sounds as after riding my bike I also rode discover and heard the shifting sound in it.....Gladiator  is lot better in that case .... But definitely false neutrals happens sometimes while riding , while taking the bike to neutral it goes to first gear again if u try to adjust it goes to second gear. This happens usually…

  7. As read some of my friends said about back problems but I think the seating is damm straight with no bending of back or neck..

8 . Self start option is very handy especially in heavy traffic conditions

  1. At 10.8 bhp the power generated by its engine is good enough to cruise along and reach successfully to the destination...no idea about bike racing...

  2. Also about not so sure but a rough calculation gave me in between 55 - 57 km/l.I don't think that’s so bad also I not a very good rider but definitely improving day by day .....

  3. Electrical are of good quality and the tail lamp is lovely piece of work ....full marks to Yamaha on that...

Some cons which I think. Please share ur opinion on this:

  1. The alloys it could have been a dasher with the alloys..however I  felt cheated as it has been launched in Delhi , I checked with the dealer and he said it will take a long time  for Bombay I don't know why ...

  2. I think the head light could have been more strong that it is now....TVS bikes have a better vision ......

  3. the pillion is quite high. its okay if u ride alone but with a person sitting back at such height ...imagine...(not so problematic and also  not a issue  at all...)

  4. Another thing is the low end torque as the option in shine or star city ....u can ride at 25 kmph oon fourth gear , that option could have added features to it. The torque of shine is 1000 rpm less that gladiator...

  5. And the poorest thing is the CRM. Just fot my first service done, Sound is more smooth and gud pick up too but I think they have done something to it..  it takes a lot more time and kicks to start in morning and also after warming up the engine when I take to first gear it jerks and stops , earlier it was a very small jerk but the engine didn’t stop…..

Guys any idea abt it do explain and also I m going to eat the head of the mechanic for this…..

This is all I have found about my gladiator till now and will keep all of u updated...

Guys Yamaha have came with a amazing machine with decent looks and lovely price in Bombay almost in same price u get Yamaha with disc and a discover with drum...So u can think and of course discover have alloys , , , but I put brakes above alloys....Any one going for gladiator definitely with out any second thought go take a test ride and u will like the machine...
