I am using Yamaha for 3+ years. Even though bike is very good, but from the first service itself, I am facing problem starting from first service. I bought the bike in Chennai in Paras Yamaha and got the extended warranty. Initially when I took the bike, it was really good experience I had. But when I gave it for the first service, the bike started behaving like a second hand bike. To rectify it, I have to visit the service center for two or three times. Then I changed the center to Pallavaram, which is near by house. But, the same problem continued there. For every service, I have to visit the center two or three times to make the bike to get in good shape. Every service there was some defect.
If it gets rectified, some other problem got into. Finally my two years got expired and service warranty started. But the service center did not accept the warranty saying that, currently there is no such from Yamaha. When I complained to Yamaha, there was no response from them. I paid almost 8 thousand with them. Then they got closed. I went to another service center near by to Kasi theater. But they charged huge sum of 2 thousand rupees telling me that, they have to change lot parts like break shoes, cluch, gears, etc. When I took the bike and drove sometime, the bike was not performing well.
The bikes fuel consumption got reduced, the bike started bumping and the tires are wobbling. When I went to them, they told me that there was no problem in the bike. I have to change only the tires. And the mechanic told me that, the oil is leaking. But the supervisor did not accept this, telling me there was no problem . Probably some more parts might need to be changed.
Yamaha, which is a very good bike, but due to problem with the service centers (which is in less places in chennai), it is very irritating to have this bike. Due to lack of service, I am planning to replace the bike with non-Yamaha brand bike.
So please dont buy any of the Yamaha bikes, including FZ16, because for the huge money you pay, you are going to be harassed and not going to enjoy a proper service. Due to poor service, all the good features of Yamaha gets worsened.
