I don't own a Yamaha Gladiator. But still I am able to make a review on it because I recommended this bike to one of my friend and fortunately exchanged it with my Honda Shine for 1 month. This was because he was a novice and riding a bike for the first time; so he wanted it to be in safer hands compared to him. Ultimately we agreed upon that he will do his experimentation on my 1 year old Honda and in return I will enjoy the first 1000 kms of his new Gladiator.

So I was ready to embark on the Gladiator which was a golden coloured beauty. This particular colour scheme is such that either you love it or you hate it. There is no middle path indeed. I obviously loved it as it was my choice again. See the irony, my friend made the cash payment; still he had no choice as both the model as well as the colour was decided by me.Bad me huh?.

Again technical detailing is good. Gladiator is a power house for its own tiny 125 cc size as it churns out a hefty 11 bhp. The ride quality is good with a comfortable seating position which is neither very commuting type nor very sporty type. But still if I had to compare it with Honda Shine; Shine has way better riding comfort. Sitting on Shine feels like sitting on the sofa. Glady is no that much comfy but still better than Discover.

Now comes the maneuvaribility believe me it is too good.Very easy handling.Nice cornering ability. The best part of this bike is its steadiness at high speeds. This bike is super steady at speeds above 60 kmph.Though I was not supposed to go beyong 50 kmph during the first 750 kms but still I couldn't resist the temptation.Again bad me.Braking is excellent as it stops to a slightest movement of your hands.I own a Shine(Disc Brake) so naturally I applied brakes just like I did in Shine expecting same results. But boss the Disc Brakes of Glady are of a different jauna.Shine Disc brakes appears rudimentary as compared to that of Glady.Be careful it will come to hault immediately.

Lights and instrumentation in this segment is pretty the same and there isn't much difference. One last thing about this bike is that it features an engine kill switch which makes this bike one of its own kind as no other bike in this egment offers this.Engine kill switch along with supreme disc brakes make this bike really very safe.Tyres too hold their grip well on the road.

Overall though I liked to ride this bike for over a month; still I  constantly missed the comfy feeling of my Shine. The sofa liking seating position makes it best city commuting bike if you don't intend to go over 60kmph.Also pickup of Shine is way better than Glady though above 50 kmph Glady is a way better bike than Shine as well as Discover.

So decide as per your requirements. If home to office commute is the only thing you do with your bike Shine is better alternative else go all the way for Glady.
