I am a proud owner of Yamaha gladiator (I have named her as Raptor). It was two

weeks back when I drove her for the first time and it was the delivery eve. A

long wait finally bypassed me when I decided to buy gladiator after comparing

her with all other bikes below 150cc segment.

I have bought a gladiator

type J.A 2wks back when the on road price was Rs56, 300; I drove if from Farid motors,

Bangalore. I

had my friend to take the delivery, cauz I was not familiar with 1down, 4 up

gear system. We were half way home, only when I noticed that speedometer was

not functioning, at that point of time I was damm annoyed with the dealer cauz,

the dealer had not fulfilled my accessory list i.e. crash guard and helmet lock.

I was glad of my gladi only when my friend (*owns

pulsar 150*) told me the machine we were on was a greatly engineered.

The engine was humming

instead of putting a noise out, the sound was more like a combat aircraft (that’s when I named her raptor) .The

engine was very smooth unlike other Yamaha bikes. The gear shift is perfectly

designed and takes very less effort to change, the typical Yamaha gear system

(1d, 4u) has definitely contributed to passion of gladi’s owner to ride her.

The riding position on gladi is very comfortable and can drive her for hours together

without body cramps and back pain, pillion rider comfort competes the comfort

of a beanbag. As u know Bangalore roads are crammed with pulse and uni’s so this

unique machine succeeded in sedating the onlookers senses by the cobra purple graphics

on the muscle, black powder coated basement, black alloys with disks, the

stunning tail lamp with clear indicators, 150cc build and more over an Yamaha

product are the focal ingredients of the sedate for onlookers.

This bike can definitely be

one of your pray when you are hunting for a 150cc machine. Engines of Yamaha

are definitely more reliable than any other Indian market bikes, which attracts

a flock of sheep’s (customers) with

their fancy futile accessories and flawless marketing strategies.

Now getting know what

gladiator JA gives u for 56 odd grand (*this

review is purely based on my bike conditions*), here it is – 125cc , 11 bhp

engine , 5 speed gear box , self start , alloys , front disk breaks , 14ltr

huge fuel tank , 55-65 kmpl on average , YTPS engine , 5 year warranty on 100

odd spare parts, brand name called ”YAMAHA” and typical Yamaha optimum power

machine. And what you get from the environment is just onlookers, onlookers and

onlookers.

  Turn on’s

1 – Vibrant purple graphics

with black background.

2 – Stunning tail lamp with

integrated clear indicators.

3 – Fuel tank wings with

Yamaha golden forks emblem.

4 – Backlit Yamaha tuning

forks on dash board.

5 – 11 bhp dragging pickup.

6 – Black alloys with disk

breaks and black basement

7 – Mammoth builds for 125cc

engine more like a 150cc.

8 – Excellent riding

positions, locks the leg with fuel tank.

9 – Reliability on engine and

average is also good.

10 - 5 speed gear box.

11 – Unique seat cover.

12 – And very low maintenance.

13- soft gear box and smooth

throttle, like a combat aircraft.

Turn off’s

1-

no tachometer

2-

no trip meter

3-

no side stand

indicators

4-

No wolf pilot

lamps.

5-

The fuel tank lid

is nasty

6-

Spray painted

black alloys whereas the basement is powder coated

7-

No in built crash

guard

8-

The extra metal

piece at the end of the handle grip is absent when other machine has it.

9-

No Teflon coat

(body prone to mild scratches)

10-

Inadequate

service centers

11-

Terrible

showrooms, gladi are certainly not a machine to be in that yard.

12-

Yamaha averts are

swelling due to poor marketing strategies of the company
