Well first of all I would like to thank all the people who participate in mouthshut.com writing down their personal experiences with the bikes. I wanted to buy a new bike and fast. Didnt know whom to turn to. So came online and mouthshut came to my rescue. Well the deciding factor for me to buy a bike was """Mileage""" and Price. So was looking in the 125cc segment. I was very confused but going through the reviews I had narrowed my choice to honda shine and yamaha gladiator ss/rs. Reading on more reviews I had made up my mind. It was going to be Yamaha all the way.

Well I liked yamaha since my dad had the old famous yamaha RX 100. But believe me I didnt go for yamaha because I had a history with this company. But because you all guys helped my decide which one in 125cc segment in the best. And so on 21 Nov 2008 I got a brand new Yamaha Gladiator SS (Red Black). While purchasing the only thing in my mind was mileage and cost. But as a bonus I got this sporty giant.

Well my two day experience riding the yamaha gladiator ss was..... what can I say this yamaha people know what they are doing. They are perfectionist. I am not saying the we Indians are too far behind. But this yamaha guys come out with this extraordinary things now and then. Three cheers for them!!!

Hey I was talking about my exp :-p

Well bike handles corners so smoothly and elegantly. I had driven Honda Unicorn before this but this bike is far better then that. Lots of power and superb control over it. Breaking is presice. And the forward disc breaks are very sharp. The bike performs very well on conjusted city roads too. Have yet to try it on open highways. I am very curiously observing the mileage factor right now. Cause there were mixed reaction about that from public reviews. The seats are very comfortable. I think that I can still take this bike on long drives too. And it will perform well too. The tires are thin. I think that helps it in cornering. I have a little trouble with its gears. NO TECHNICAL problems at all. Problem adjusting to gear system. The bike scores high. I didnt care about its look that much. But as my gf had pointed out its an eye turner. Only problem till now with the bike is that. People driving other bikes tend to admire it so much that they forget that they are on a bike and some time come to close. :-p

Overall 10/10 from me.

Well I have ridden the glady for more then 800 KM and done the first service. Needless to say that it gave me flawless performance. I use it almost every day for commuting to and fro, covering total of around 40 KM per day. Here is the review of my experience.

1) ENGINE: The engine is very powerful of the 125 cc segment. I have ridden honda unicorn 150cc. That is also one of the good bikes. Nice pickup and top speed. Same the case with glady but at higher speeds other bikes vibrate and their engine make wierd noises but glady is smooth at top speeds too. I am sorry I know I was not supposed to go beyound 50Km/hr before covering 1000Km but having such a powerfull bike and open roads cound not control myself. :-p. The engine has no problem dilivering the power needed anytime. Even when not driving aggesively been ahead of the crowd (that too having my gf on the back seat).

2) CONTROL: The bike is a bit heavy conpare to the other 125cc. But its one of the best looking too. Length wise its almost or more then unicorn or pulsor. But those bikes have bigger tanks. But being slightly heavy the most important aspect of this bike is the control. Many many many times in the traffic road I have to ride the bike between other vehiches who are just a little more then the length of the handle bar away from each other. The bike fits anywhere and its really hard to loose control. The front disc brakes are very powerfull. Its very much a plus point in crowded places. Another thing there have been close calls which I was driving (mostly I was to be blamed) But in this close calls glady was so easy to control that I and glady came out without a scare.

3) Mileage: I get around 50+ KM/Lit but in rush hours in completly traffic roads I get around 40Km/lit. I can understand it since I mostly have to drive in 1st or 2nd gear.

The bike is very powerfull very much in control very accurate very smooth. I dont think even once I made a wrong choice buying yamaha glady ss. CoOl looks too. So guys If you want to buy a bike please dont buy glady. Let me be the unique one! :-p kidding! Go Buy it else some other substandard bikes are there too. Have them. But whatever you do drive safely especially if I am riding next to you! :-p
