Yamaha has launched its new version of Gladiator - Gladiator SS - Stylish and Sporty . Yes definetly it is.
Has many new features in it.
Redefined Aerodynamics
MRF Zapper tyres in front & rear
Racing cowl - as in Karizma
Aluminium die cast retractable foot rest
F1 Type clear lens blinkers - for indicators
Looks
Its awesome with all black engine and alloys, and two tone color of it makes it look really stylish, and some small revision in the dimensions and positions of the pedals makes it really sporty, the rider has to slant a bit to hold the handles - again sporty.
*Comparision
Rather than comparing it with 125 cc bikes, it would be diplomatic to compare it with the 150 cc bikes, YES it has a performance like that, 11 PS - highest in 125 segement, makes you feel the'vroom' from signals.
And the wider design makes it look like an 150 cc bike.
*Engine & Gear
Its an 125 CC engine with the square design like the RX 100, not tilted engine positions(unlike other designs)
Has 5 gears, 1 down 4 up pattern with toe type pedal - sporty again.
*Performance
Its the Yamaha** - so definitely the engine is going to be like rock.
And the fuel efficiency claimed by Yamaha is 67, but we could expect something between 50 - 60, in city conditions.
*Features & Variants
Its a fully loaded design with all features like Disc Brakes, Alloy wheels, Self Start Tachometer - first in 125 cc segment.
And comes in 2 Variants as in pictures.
*Test Drive opinion
Once the vehicle is statred it gives a sporty sound, and its gear shifting was smooth, and it has an very decent pick up, and the further gears are also easy to shift, and the sound of the vehicle is slighly bassy - due to the new type'piston styled' exhaust silencer.
And brakes are excellent, the front shock-absorbers are very well accomplying with the dics brakes.
And the "engine off" button is helpful for switching off the engine in signals, instead of mendling with the keys.

Surprisingly price **46.500/- * ex showroom, with all features loaded.
