My self Jayprakash & I stay in Koperkhairane, Navi Mumbai. Its been one year since I started riding my black beauty, christened as the "DARKKNIGHT".I gave it this title coz of two reasons: 1) I just love the movie with the same name(BATMAN); 2) The concept of DarkKnight shared in the same movie.one who is always there to protect, the silent guardian and being the reliable character for all without waiting for the appreciation. Much like myself as a person.
I got my DK(as I call him fondly, yes I consider him as a guy who is my best partner), on 27th Jan 2010.It was solely my decision to go for such an expensive bike especially being my first one, convincing parents was tough.But my friends backed me stating that its Yamaha.it will never let you down. And wow! it never ever did. Hence I always consider it as my best decision in life.
Enough about me now, coming to DK, its a monster-beast-hulk all rolled into one with the resilience of the strongest warrior who knows he is unbeatable.The power and the torque it churns out at the roll of the wrist is enchanting to be experienced.The pickup is superb and each gear has lots of ranges of speed.Once I clocked 30kmpn in 1st gear and 70kmph in 4th gear.dats AMAZING! DK believes in slow and steady acceleration.
The gear shifts are supersmooth provided you keep it well oiled, greased and maintained.The handling is also amazing.You will never feel that the bike is not in your control completely(As in Pulsars).I have touched 118kmph(my top speed) and then also the bike is rocksteady! Dats when you know why the engineers as Yamaha have worked so much on the aerodynamical fairing.N man, the looks are to die for.
As for the battery life, its good n quite reliable.even without kick start and dual headlights(have to do some wiring for the same), the battery has run smoothly for two months.I have fitted blue angel lights one on each headlight giving a look of a monster with eyes! Headturner on the road guaranteed!
I have also had two falls, one which ripped apart the left side fairing and guard.I had to change the complete set of fairing making it good as new & it cost me just 1200 bucks! Now that's what a low maintenance bike is!
It has never let down in pickup or speed on highways.The mileage has also been good compared to the weight and power of the bike. DK gives me 42-45kmpl on an average at moderate and highspeeds!
All in all, its a great value for money and best choice for pure biking experience & exhilaration.All you need to ensure the same is to keep the bike clean and well maintained!
Its a joy to own the Yamaha.n Fazer.its a dream!
