FZ-S Really a lord of the street .. Review on Yamaha FZ-S

This is my second FZ-S (Bought new coz I loved my girl but bike:(). I am riding it since OCT 1 2014 and she is wonderful. Usually people look for a bike which has more mileage and power and here you will get both. (You will not get a power of Apache RTR and average of Pulsar) Here you will get a decent average and power.

I am getting an average of 48+(~50).Now to get this much of average you have to love your bike . Really more than your girl. Till 1000 km drive below 1000 rpm(max 54 km/h) and till 3000(6000 rpm t 80 km/h). Never drive it at low tire pressure. Basically it reduces the average and increase chances of tire getting punctured and most important point if you are driving it after a long break more than 8 hours.

In start, drive it on low RPM:).

Cons:

1) When I shift down sometimes I feel gears are some what hard.(Experienced in more than one FZ-S).

2) Fuel tank capacity - only 12L.

3) Mono suspension may lead pillion to backache.

4) You have to close the paddle to make a kick.

5) After some time indicator starts to fall of the body. (This will take place if you have it for long period of time).

6) Rear tire does not have a mudguard, so if rear tire is wet it will throw too much of mud towards both side and back.(Pillion clothes will be dirty even after a small ride).

Pros:

1) It has Cycle handle … so sitting will be proper and real comfortable. In case of apache and pulsar they both have sport sitting and handle which causes neck ache and joint ache.

2) Even if you clean it after a long time. It always shines.(I don’t know how they managed this . My old bike used to shine even after 4 years and to be frank I rarely cleaned it)

3) Rear tyre.

Me: I am around 5.8 . 70-75 kg guy . travel from Wakad to Talwade in moderate traffic not like hinjewadi. If you are working in hinjewadi. Mileage may drop.
