I bought one of these in 2001 a brand new one for about 48(including, tax, reg, ins, etc). Unfortunately I hardly get time to ride itmuch as it's in Delhi and I’ve beenon projects everywhere except Delhi.

Every once in a while I go back home and take it for a spin. Like I saidit’s mostly parked, the odometer reads 8000 today after 5 years. During theseyears I have had to put in a piston every time since it’s parked and nobody isthere to take care of it. My father tries to take it out sometimes but that’svery rare and I don’t blame him.

Last year, a got a set of alloys from Rado Wheels Chennai, eachweighing 4.7 kgs. I thought now I’d lose on power, performance, mileage andwhat not.

To my surprise I can still do a 100 KMPH in no time, although a little lessthan 110 that I could do when it was new. Today it needs a piston again (4thone this time), has an added weight of 9.4 kg and it still does a 100, while it balances superbly. Whatmore can you want.

I have jumped it from 4 feet high mud wall in my farms. This baby has neverlet me down. I remember there was no 2T, engine oil and it still started (witha lot of scary sounds of course) and took me to the garage about 40 KMS away.

I owned a Pulsar 180 with alloys and what not, could not keep it for morethan 4 months. I bought it brand new and lost 15 thousand on it. It has nicepickup but not as comfortable as the Yamaha.

I’m in process of getting myself an RD 350 (Hopefully would have it soon),paying 60 K for it. I'm sure that'd not let me down either. After all it's aYamaha.

I wouldn’t want to sell either one of these, I have ridden a Kawasaki Ninja,it’s amazing no doubt. But RX 135, RX 100, RD 350……… nah…..can’t imagine being without one, or two rather in my case.

I changed the silencer with the original RX 100 one, have a Jawa wheel inthe rear.

I don’t care about the mileage, after all how can one……. You have a greatlooking, performing bike.

The maintenance is nill other than petrol, than again I think it’s worth itcause you’d end up spending say about 6k to get your Honda or Bajaj up andrunning from such a state where as spend say about 2.5 – 3 and it’s like newagain. So overall you spend the same kinda money.

Even if not, still who cares…. Yamaha is THE BEST….

So all of you out there, looking to buy a motorcycle, close your eyes andget of these. You won’t regret it (Unless you are a mileage freak, in whichcase you cannot be satisfied even with a porn star j/k)

Take care,
