I have owned a few bikes before- one of my favourites was Yamaha YBX 125, I maintained it quite well and it was a 4-stroke super smooth, super light and powerful bike- unfortunately somebody stole it. And eventually, I lost interest in bikes and moved on to the car zone and started enjoying the four wheel world.

But somehow the bike-freak inside me rang the bell so hard I started testing almost all bikes available in the market (except for the superbikes for the price and practicality factor)

Herohonda- CBZ and Hunk- superb engines, good refinement, styling, road-presence and reliable- almost ended up buying a Hunk.TVS-apache- pickup and just pickup- nothing else that I really liked about this bike.

BAJAJ- Never like the engines - made of cheapest possible material - Sounds like a refined flour mill- yikes! its a bike- should sound smooth or rough.. as simple as that.

Yamaha- The FZs are a revolution in indian bike industry- nothing else matches the style, grip and road presence- decent performance only till 70kmph, after that it becomes lazy, bulky and thirsty- one word- no consistency in performance.

R-15s, amazing bike no doubt, innovative launch by Yamaha, but I dint want to spend more than 80k.

NOW HERE IS THE TWIST IN KAHANI

--While on this bike search spree.. I ended up riding a very well maintained RX135 and immediately fell in love with it, honestly I had no second thought ha ha ha- but the problem is availablity of a good one in the second hand market. The biking freak in me was still ringing it hard enough so managed to buy 1 from my home town for just 20k- a pretty decent one.

And then I took to TOP GEAR in bangalore and got the complete makeover done with very minor job on the engine (price for makeover -20k). It is a pure pleasure to own it now- Showroom condition.

Every time I ride it, it makes me so proud.

Powerful

Lightweight

Best bike for city and does well on highway as well.

Low on maintanance

Mean and clean looks

Mileage 35-40 Kmpl

Top speed- 115kmph that I could touch so far-without any effort I am not kidding- this bike enjoys acceleration so obviously you would enjoy it even more.

I have heard of starting problems, but I have never faced it even once in the past 4 months that I have owned it. Bangalore weather is mostly on the colder side and even then no problem in starting.

Well, for those who are offended with the fact of pollution by 2 strokes- I am doing my best

I use MOTUL fully synthetic engine oil(1ltr-Rs900) and semi synthetic 2T oil (750m- Rs500). Very low on pollution and amazing performance and smoothness.

Its true -Everyone should own an RX 135 once in a life time- I think I am going to own it forever now.

Cheers,

Chaitanya
