I laugh when I hear guys talk about how fast the CBZ or Pulsar is. Face it! You want an adrenaline rush, get the Yamaha RX-135 or the Yamaha RXZ (if you can afford it). But first you guys have to modify this baby to really make it fly! Don’t get me wrong, it can beat any bike even otherwise. But I’m talking about stopping at a red light, giving the guy on the Karizma next to you a mean look and the guy on the Shogun an even meaner look, revving the engine and then… when the light hits green…bam! You let the clutch go, get a face full of sky for 8secs and leave the lard asses in your dust.

First of all - I NEEDED to modify my bike because after riding it for 60kms everyday I started developing backpain. Let’s face it, the bike is not the most comfortable to ride on! I can’t understand these manufacturers! You can’t ride a bike like a scooter, ramrod straight! We need a more ergonomically sound design. So I had to get three modifications done.

Modific. 1

The seat couldn’t be replaced without uglifying the bike, so I opted to fit a specially designed MS steel plate between the rear shock absorber and the chassis, thus raising the height almost 6 inches! This will really jack up your rear end fellas!

Modific. 2

The Yam 135 comes with a really HEAVY 8.5 kgs CAT CON silencer, I never realised until I took it off. The modification wouldn’t set with the CAT CON so I opted for the 135cc PROTON exhaust, net wt. 2kgs max.

Modific. 3

I found this out after skidding at 70 while taking a curve! I still have the scars! Jacking up your bike also destabilises it! Because your rear end is higher than your front, the rotational coupling force acting on your rear end just flings the bike away! So I had to jack up my front shocks too. This can be done in two ways. You can opt for just putting in bigger cylindrical brackets and giving a false height that works (cheap mechanic work) or you could get yourself a pair of Enticer shocks, that are really long, with a set of KB springs and get a brand new desi dirt-bike suspension!

I must confess, the first time I rode my Yam after modifying it, I was doing wheelies inadvertently half the time! I can make any bike , except the Bullet and Roadking, eat my dust! Pulsar! ha! I’m laughing, CBZ, don’t kid me!

Disclaimer:

I am not responsible if you guys get caught for breaking the sound barrier after modifying this baby! This is a very real threat!

The only bike to beat this souped-up baby, is if you get a brand new RXZ 5 speed, disc brake model, ditch the CAT CON for a PROTON, convert the bore piston assembly to a RX 100 model and then, you may just beat the ROADKING. Seriously, if you are a speed freak with a budget to follow, then get the YAM 135, it totally rocks! Want to make some music? Modify it! Want to make your bike sing? Get the RXZ – do the above. I absolutely guarantee that you will end up living on a pure adrenaline rush!

RX 135 12.5 bhp, 135cc. 4 speed; 0-60 in 9 secs!

RXZ 14.4 bhp, 135 cc ;5 speed, 0-60 in 6 secs!
