I have got a six year old black Yamaha Enticer . I do not plan to sell this any sooner because I'm in love with my bike. Although I feel it is  a bit short changed for power but you can spot it in the crowd of mundane 100-125 cc bikes or for that matter 150 cc bikes.

Yamaha launched this bike sometime in August 2002 in select cities/showrooms. It retailed for a premium then .There was a booking amount of Rs.5000, which was a bit strange at that point of time for a two wheeler. The first thing people fell head over heels was for it's looks. I personally decided t o buy this after just taking a look at the product. I was more or less firm on buying a pulsar way back then. I travelled 30 kms to have a look at the bike on the day of it's launch. One look I was smitten, let's say enticed. It didn't matter whether I wuld be able to ride it or not, considering it to be a pseudo cruiser styling. The most difficult part was geeting used to the cruiser styled handles in heavy flowing traffic of Mumbai. Also the gears were oddly atleast 5-6 inches above the foot peg. One distinct advantage it had over the other bike was a luxurious sofa kind of seat & a place to rest your foot,

It had a very tried & tested 125 cc mill ftom the Yamaha belt. This engine developed a power close to 11 bhp which was adequate for a single rider. It lacked power when two healthy adults sat on it, especially on open highways. The power was adequate for the cities but felt inadequate on open stretches of traffic free road. It was a matter of getting used to the handle bars. I found it pretty convenient & relaxing, though a lot of people had gone ahead & changed it to a straight handlebar.

The best part of any yamaha bike is its build quality. The quality of switchgear, their gears, quality of workmanship were excellent. It was only let down by poor service network. It was more to do with the kind of dealers who were left behind to handle the likes of Yamaha. Since the product did not have a good market share most of the good dealers went to the likes of Bajaj & Hero Honda. At least  the experience I had with the service network was pathetic to say the least. I even risked my warranty to get it serviced it outside the dealership network. It worked pretty fine.

The mileage of the bike was in the range of 42 to 44 kms/lts in real world driving conditions. The maximum speed attained by me on the bike was 90kmph. It felt very planted & stable since the bike had a low centre of gravity, hence it felt vey safe even when you were 60 plus kms/hr. Also since the rear tyre was broad & wide the traction from the tyres were good .

Once the Castrol bike service network was set up I used to get my bike serviced through them.

I would defnitely recommend it for a second hand buy to anybody but beware ;the good ones will not be sold by their owners & the ones in the market are usually abused ones.
