I owned Yamaha Crux, maroon colored same as rx100 .on 29/8/2013. ON ROAD IN GUJARAT 45, 000 Rs including RTO+FULL INSURANCE Completed 23000 km on 15 may 2016, and 26, 400 km on 13th january 2017, Average is 70 to 75 km/Litre, I am driving it carefully, properly shifting gear, changing oil every 1200 to 1500 km. changing oil on 1500 km is very important. people changing 4000 km but as mechanical and thermal engineer, I suggest that engine oil must be changed every 1500 km,  the secret or key of healthy engine and mileage for long term.

I observed lowest priced bikes from all company comparing 1) price( on date of 29/8/2013, now days  BJAJ relaunched ct100, but peronally I rate yamaha engines, they are better), 2) mileage 3) acceleration pick up 4) how mileage and engine condition are affected after 5 years or 40, 000 km, I found following features and advantage before buying and after buying the same advantage I experienced. 1) its strong and tough chassis, very easy to open every part assembly, 2) minimum 65 km/L milage on rough use and if we maintain bike’s health and drive properly we can reach to 70 to 80 km/L. 3) obviously Yamaha is known for pick up and I m enjoying it. I had ride of another company’s 100 to 125 cc bikes, comparing them Yamaha’s 105 cc bike has excellent pic up. Never exceed the following speed for good mileage. GEAR MAXIMUM SPEED 1ST 10 km/hr 2ND 20 km/hr 3RD 35 km/hr 4TH 50 up to first 1000km, after it you can go to 60 km/hr and above but in two wheeler above 60 Km/ hr is risky considering balancing and another controling, so accident possibility increases. If u cross above speed limits specially in first 1000 km in new virgin engine mileage can be broken up permanently. I experienced  in yamaha crux when you ride on highway constantly 50 to 60 km distance, mileage is broken from 70/75 to 60/65 reason is overheating. The same is applied to all small air cool engines. To avoid overheating take break every 30 km distance on highway long distance journey. You can ride 40 to 50 kms constantly but you should take care of overheating and engine life. SAFELY BEST PICK UP CAN B ACHIEVED IN 3RD GEAR AND LITTLE BIT IN 2ND SHIFT(GEAR) reason I bought this bike is: 1) lowest price 2) I expected good mileage minimum 65 to 70 km/L at least but it is higher than expectation 70 to 80 km/L. If you take acceleration with full throttle unnecessary with rough driving, average will be 55 to 60 only. Obviously it increases fuel consumption! To get something we have to pay something.! 3) good pick up as its Yamaha product and new look in maroon colour making its style like rx100. 4) almost zero maintenance and strong majboot bike.

Bad points are, no fuel indicator and no self start only kick start. No alloy whee so no tubeless tyre. Poor head light bulb. here I mentioned how did I overcome these bad points(except self start, fuel indicator, tubeless tyre) successfully in just 100 to 200 rupees.

, I had converted stoke ba20D holder to hs1/ h4 35/35 watt, 40/45 watt halogen bulb successfully in the same head light dome by some modification in light bulb holder.( without rewinding stator/ coil, and without installing new relay). practical results will be shown in youtube in ending february 2017. After upgradation I had 400 kms high way ride. Result is positive. Now head light is intense.I will upload video of upgrading of poor stoke head light of yamaha crux. Bulb cost only 100 Rupees. if you dont go on highways, just upgrade bulb to halogen type 35/35 watt without modifying bulb holder, it really doubled light focus(I tried it). It cost only 50 Rupees. Back sit is hard really. But no too much. but it is very lower sit. So I modified and up it by 1.5 inches rear side of sit by making metal stand of one inch in the same original sit. This supporting stand is on rear of chassis above rear suspension. It cost 50 Rupees only. Overall, cheapest strong mileage bike with Yamaha pick up.

installing self start is more time, cost, energy consuming than kicking it by foot. You can change wheels from spok type to alloy tubeless tyre. You can search its cost in market( 10000 to 16000, + price of tubeless tyres)

if you know to tune carburetor for pick up, obviously such settings increases fuel consumption. But I set for good average with medium pikc up in my yamaha crux. As I am mechanical engineer and expert in internal combustion engines and carburetor settings, temperature and material science. So I recommend you to do not try change carburetor tunning yourself. You can go to Yamaha service centre and tell them to set for pick up or set for good average. I will upload video of how to tune carburetor by your self specially for yamaha crux riders on youtube  in february 2017 ending
