Piracy Par Yakeen. Review on Yakeen - 2005 - Bollywood

I wonder that why only Priyanka Chopra’s films come in advance to Pakistan ven before their theatrical release in India. I hope you all remember my review on KARAM (priyanka , John) that came to Pakistan on cds even two days before its release in India. Now ‘’Yakeen breaks the record and its Priyanka second film that I have seen today (it has a very good original DVD like print) on vcd Four days …. Yes … four days before its release in India and world over just because of piracy mafia… first I thank to piracy because due to its ‘’KARAM’’ (courtesy) I have seen a hot new film two days before its planned release , while now its my ‘’YAKEEN’’ (believe) that piracy mafia is very strong .. boley tou .. ;)

Now this time I really wanan thank Piracy mafia J that I have seen a very good nail biting thriller after a very long time four days prior to its release because of ‘’ganda dhanda ‘’ ;)

Story of this film is really very interesting and also complicated. ‘’Simar (Priyanka) and Nikhil(Arjun Rampal) are husband and wife, one day they met with an accident . Priyanka was saved but Arjun lost his face as well as memory. Priyanka tries to help him in returning his old life but his friend and his friend’s sister Tania (Kim Sharma) brings a storm in Arjun’s life by telling him that his wife is cheating him and have extra marital affairs with a guy name ‘’kabeer’’ and Arjun also saw her wife pictures in bed with Kabeer in which his face was not visible.

Turning mad by anger he just chased her wife with the photographer and listened her talking with kabeer on a phone and also saw her chatting with Kabeer from a window but again Kabeer’s face was not visible, and Priyanka was telling Kabeer tha tshe wants to restart her married life and wanna forget him but then Kabeer refuses and Arjun starts running after Kabeer to catch him but Kabeer escaped , finally when Arjun trapped hm and caught him , he was shocked after klooking the face of Kabeer who was no oen but his wife Simar (Priyanka Chopra). She tells her she used to love him but she and his husband killed him and now she only loves Arjun . They reunite again , but then Kim Sharma called Arjun and told him to come because she wants to tell him a deep secret, but when Arjun reached their someone already had killed Kim Sharma.

Then after reaching the same palce of accident Arjun started recalling his memories and then a terrible truth strikes his mind .. HE WAS NOT NIKHIL BUT KABEER … and he and Priyanka had killed Arjun and dug him in the snow, Kabeer also searched Arjun’s dead body and comes to know that Priyanka had changed Kabeer’s face after the accident for his obsession with Kabeer and her own self benefits. Then they again met with an accident and Priyanka died this time while Kabeer was saved and he went to Police station wit hArjun’s dead body to confess all his crimes for which the actual root cause was Priyanka but at that time she was no more.

As you all can guess by the story that its basically a suspense thriller, and I must say that its is a very slick one and nail biting/edge of the seat kind of thriller that will never let you down and you will be completely mesmerized with the going on s.

Direction is first rated, although there are many twists and turns and huge unbelievable incidents but due to the director’s genius they never looked tacky, over exaggerated, unnatural or crappy.

Screenplay is the essence of the film, very strong, interesting and solid that will engage you throughout the two hours of the film.

Music is not as such required, but still the songs are hum able and east on ears, picturisation is entertaining and esthetic.

Performance wise it’s an allover Priyanka Chopra’s film after AITRAAZ. She shows the emations of a psycho lover, level headed caring wife and mysterious women like a seasoned actress and is one of her finest performance, but still in my opinion she should avoid copying Madhuri Dixit in body language and dialogue delivery/ expressions fields because it clearly shown on the screen.

Arjun Rampal is less wooden this time and is improving as an actor, both his shades as a lover Kabeer and husband Nikhil shown him a promising versatile Actor. Kim Sharma does not leave any kind of solid impression and in my suggestion, this able heroine of Mohabbatain and ‘’Kehta hai dil bar bar’’ should not accept these kind of extra roles, its not a survival but will vanish her career in bollywood. The guy in ‘’real’’ KABEER ‘s role was good but seemed a bit shy and introvert for an energetic new age hip singer.

Overall a really very good suspense thriller after a looong looong time and after intelligentisa thrillers like 100 days, darna mana hai and kaun etc….

I am sure you will really enjoy this flick and will keep guessing the coming incidents throughout the film, provided that you have missed the Spoilers in my review . J Yes I admit that the director has taken some cinematic liberties and some shades of characters were a bit under developed , but you cannot simply dump a very slick and really enetertaining thriller for these minute and routine errors of films specially in suspense thriller generation where a bit cinematic liberity is always been expected.
