Yaariyan:
What happens when a young struggling starlet, who suddenly comes into a fortune by marrying industry’s biggest music company’s scion decides to indulge herself with 20-something raw and goofy kids with Bollywood aspirations – Yaariyan!
Lakshya(Himanshu Kohli), a slain army officer’s bouncy kid who lives with his mother(Smita Jayakar) in Sikkim and studies at a picturesque hostel in the hills is driven by his hormonal locha, urge to get his first kiss and a bunch of college nincompoops for friends.
The frivolous five are thrown into a challenge by their Principal(Gulshan Grover) to save their college land from getting usurped by an Australian business magnet. For this, they have to fly to Australia, party on the beech with shots of Malibu and bikini clad babes and enter some of the most ridiculously executed contests. In the bargain, Lakshaya’s childhood bud gets killed who has been working and studying in Australia.
The team comes back in the second half and you expect some sense to prevail. But it continues going downhill repeating the same frivolity of the first half and scenes randomly put together in between songs that are the only sane thing about this unsavory hodge-podge !
